Title: Toad Alarm Fitting.
Post by: buckman67 on November 10, 2008, 02:34:14 PM
Just finished the bushes and pillowballs :yes, so finally got round to starting the install of the car alarm, Toad Ai606. Done a search and the vast majority of people appear happy with this unit so I just wanted any thoughts on issues with install ?. I\'m fine with car electrics, so if somebody else has done there own install would just like some pointers for positioning  of main unit / siren ( next to brake servo ? ) and any issues encountered.

cheers

I\'ve got one too :) Didn\'t install it myself though...had to get the installers to put an extra solenoid in to make the drivers door work with the central locking. My siren is by the brake servo.

Well I got the alarm in and running. Not a difficult job really if you can find your way around a wiring diagram. The car interior is not difficult to dismantle so you can run and hide the wiring, good channels down the sides.  Just needed a drivers door actuator to complete the install ( thanks Probedb :Thumbs-up ).
Probably wont get to use the alarm much as the car only comes out the garage on sunny days for a country blast, but it keeps the insurance company happy ...and cheaper !
