Title: gearbox removal
Post by: leeroy_25 on November 04, 2008, 08:17:07 PM
Hi Guy\'s can someone tell me how you seperate the gearbox from the engine on an FD? I gather due to the pull type clutch there is a bit of a trcik to it.. I am about to change my clutch and plan on dropping the box out rather than taking the engine.. Any tips gratefully recieved. Any pictures would be even better!
Thank you
Lee

Hi Lee, Jono did a guide here.  Is pretty straight forward, watch the video on youtube on how to disengage the clutch.  Give me a call if you get stuck.

Cheers Martin,

That\'s spot on!! Just was I was looking for! Not half as bad sounding as I thought it would be! I just need to get enough room under the car to drop the box! Hoping to make some kind of bung so I don\'t need to drain the oil as it is a pain to refill where it is! But we will see! I have a spare prop but i don\'t really want to cut it up!
