I was due to take the car to Carl Hayward today to investigate the various problems. firstly the car would not start, then when it did start it only ran on one rotor and then died, I managed to get my mum over and we tried to jump start it as the battery was flat by then. this didn\'t work at all so we told a little lie to get mums recovery company over to my house to get it going (pretending her car was broken but in getting hers going nackerd mine) he tried with a external battery pack and it still wouldn\'t go, by now I should have been with Carl but I informed him of the problems and he told be the best way to do it was to tow the car to get it going. After a short trip in mums car the buy some tow ropes (I forgot to mention I did try and use her battery but all I did was shear the bolt that secures her battery). we managed to tow the car and it fired up....... but..... It ran like poo and there were plumes of white smoke out the back and a little from under the bonnet, Bum. I rang Carl and he said it seems knackerd but he needs to see the car and its not drivable, double bum. I am now waiting for a recovery truck to take it to Newbury so a grown-up can look at it. if the water seal has let go (and I think it has) I wont be seeing the car for a while.
Bad times.(http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif)
But a should mention that the company we bought it from has been really good and I am sure it will all get fixed.
Good times(http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif)
But in a hour I have to go and fix mums car where I broke it
Bad times.(http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif)
If anyone would like to come round and kick me in the nuts then feel free, couldnt make the day any worse (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/images/icons/icon11.gif)

Still, I\'ve always enjoyed kicking a man when he\'s down - what\'s your post code? :Giggle
What happened to your mums car then? :wave

Ya ugly bugger! *Rob starts with the taunting*

Welcome to RX7 ownership, when its going well its great when it isn\'t it sucks!
TBH mate, it sounds buggered!! Very similar to my last one, also like my current one!! :D
I replaced the engine in my last car, but this time I\'m going to rebuild the one in my new car.
Well you\'re a bit nearer I had to get mine trailered down from Chesterfield :)

Hi mate
I managed to get a local company to transport the car for £140 not to bad I suppose
Cheers anyway
I had a felling that the engine was going to need major work after chatting to some people on here, but I did think it would last longer that it has (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif)
Wow Chesterfield! yeh that sucks at least its only an hour or so from me(http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif)

This thread is weird! Wot sort of club would we be to kick someone when they\'re down like that. Oh, yeah, rotary engined car club. In that case, better get used to it, guys! In the words of Denis Leary "Life sucks, buy a f***ing helmet!" :Giggle
Sorry to hear it\'s gone pop, seriously. Hope it\'s not too badly fubar, sure Carl will get it up together good as new

Now, who else wonders what sorta place rx jamies\' missus works to get this sorta response to the request for a kick in the nuts?!
 Can\'t imagine anywhere outside a Tory Politicians Public Schoolboy\'s Gaylord Club where they pay good money for those sort of things!

lol she erm...dances for men. believe it or not its a common request by some men. they like being kicked or kneed REALLY hard. it gets them turned on. very strange.
That\'s remarkable . On all counts! :yes
Obviously some men do need a good kick in the nuts then!
lol. takes all sorts dont it. you would be amazed what the lasses get in the club. some stories i tell you lol
Im going to get my missus to kick me in the boz. Will tell you all later if i get aroused lol.:Giggle
Lets face it RX7 owners should be quite used to this (except the very lucky few) Its a bit like Bill Murray in Little shop of horrors go along to your tuner and say do it just do it I love the pain of parting with my hard earned wad.

Fair play for not being insecure about it and everything.. Guess you didnt meet her at the club then?
Bad luck willanddeb! Excellent choice for Carl to do the rebuild, I bought my FD knowing it needed a rebuild, (water seals!) 4 years trouble free driving since! Personally i view a rebuilt motor as an asset which will increase the reliability, value, saleability and enjoyment of the car, summer would have been a worse time for it to fail! (if it had to be!) once it\'s done you will have peace of mind with it in future, run it in through the winter months, ready for a great spring and summer, all the better if the seller will help with the costs,
Good luck, Bob
Hi Bob
Thanks very much, I have just had an encouraging e-mail from the company we bought it from and ringers crossed it will be getting fixed by Carl very soon. And like you said it will give us such a good piece of mind knowing that its been done.
Cant wait to get it back, its such a great car.
Regards
Will and Deb
