Title: 5/8 and 3/8 aluminium fuel line
Post by: Archbish on October 29, 2008, 02:04:36 PM
The fuel setup that\'s going on the first gen needs to have 5/8 from the pump, and 3/8 on the return - but I\'m struggling to find anywhere that sells it.

Any hints or tips??

I\'ve used them for my CDS (roll cage tubing) bundy for the brakes and fuel hose.

Good to deal with.

Hope they can help you.

Thank you for the pointer, but they only do rubber or braided hose.  I\'m after solid fuel lines to run from the back of the car to the front, and don\'t want to hang the hoses under the car...

bish,   just use 10mm and 12mm,  pirtec do it,  although they seem very big.  why the different fuel hose?,  if your using the pump i think you are, 8mm for both would be the norm?   8mm will easily do 450 flyhp probably even 500.

BTW, Had mine dynoed a couple of weeks ago and took it to its first track day,  its as mental as a box of frogs..... but fun.   c\'mon, hurry up and get yours going  :)

Because of the size fittings I\'ve got.  the feed going into the splitter block is -10an, the fuel rail is -8an, and the pressure regulator is -6an.  So I figured might as well be consistent throughout the setup, and it\'ll look neater (the hose end for the splitter needs to be 10an which becomes the 5/8, and the hose end for the regulator needs to be 6an, hence the 3/8).

oh, and thanks for the pirtec lead...!!  Glad you got the car going - any teething problems so I can catch up (although that would have to be a teething problem like sticking it in a hedge so the whole car has to be rebuilt...*grin*)

Best place is to ring //www.thinkauto.com Have huge range of bits and adapters. Much cheaper than pirtec too !

Think Stu has a discount code for them too !

Plus Pirtec don\'t offer big sizes for crimped hoses. I wasted alot of cash on my oil feed lines because they didn\'t supply correct pipe diameter !

hell, it\'ll need to be on the autobarn on a clear day to make sure the road is up to the car.  It\'s all I\'m saying...  Just watch those 1/4 mile times.  That\'s it, I\'m not saying anything else.  Just gotta find a tough enough dyno is all.  I think that says it all.  Faster than Gurj around pies after redbull with profiteroles awaiting.  I think that says it all.  Tighter that Grinder on an economy drive.  I think you get my jangle.  Quicker than Blitzy with tingle gel, a dead arm, and an underwear catalogue.  OK, not that quick...

so anyway, now I\'m trying to find a -10an hardline cap for reasonable cash.  Cheap to buy on EBAY, but the seller wants $25 to ship from the US.  Reasonable to buy from speedflow, but they want £8.50 shipping.  Earls only go up to -8an.  Why is it so dear to ship these bits?
