does anybody has some pictures of how the diffuser was mounted to the bodywork. As I dont know how I should mount it properly.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Rogier
Which RE diff have you got fella?
the pro version. It mounts with some "canard style" things to the body, however I dont know where to find some plugs or similar to mount it to the body.
I think a few people have used either rivets of simple bolts bud.
I was thinking to rivet it also. How you want to use studbolts? Can you enter from the inside?
Yes you can, jack the car up from the back and you will be able to see more. You will also need to remove the black plastic trim from the rear underside of the rear bumper (this can be tricky) then the diff will fit better.
will take a look this afternoon. Thanks already.
if using nuts and bolts, get ones which have little plastic inserts in the nuts... stops them coming undone when vibrating...
DIY shops do \'em.
nylock nuts. thanks for the advice.
just had a quick feel and peek, but the canards line up with the square holes, and these can not be accessed from below, only from within.
I have a RE diffuser mate. If I get a chance I\'ll take some pics over the weekend.
that would be great! Thanks
Hi Jim,
Any luck on the pics?
Just took a look and feel again, but the holes are ca. 1cm deep, you can not reach them from the back or likewise.
I think I need something that would expand, when a screw is turned in.
Hi mate,
As long as the missus doesn\'t take up too much of my time today, I\'ll get those pics for you. Failing that, it\'ll be tomorrow as it\'s a day off tomorrow.
The car\'s got it\'s nose about a million feet in the air at the moment, so I need to finish the work on it first. Drop it on it\'s bum and I\'ll get you the pics.
Jim
Like Skim, i\'m also looking forward to some pic\'s please Jim, Be great if you can get some up, might give me some enthusiasm to fit the thing!
Cheers Bob
It\'ll be tomorrow guys.
I actually don\'t know how it\'s fitted myself as I didn\'t fit it.
Was searching for some nuts and bolts, and found that you might be able to use blind/ spread nuts. However could not find ones that were suitable for square 10mm only up to 8 mm.
if you have rear spats you have the right inserts you can use. I dont have them. ANybody have some part numbers on the rear spats and especially the inserts?
Sorry for the delay on pics. I\'m working 12 hour days and the weather is so bad outside!
ah you pussy :D
just finished the install. I happened to have two spreadnuts in nylon which fitted perfectly. HOwever the other side still needed to be done. What you can do is use the rubber grommets, pull them out, make a tiny hole in them, and put a screw threw them upside down, the rubber will prevent the screw from turning. It seem pretty well fixed now. Will let you know on how it goes on the road.
