How much would you expect to pay to have a single conversion done. Not the kit or any parts just labour. Thanks.

Pip told me if i supplied the parts then about 1 days labor, 1000 quid, then remap 300, so 1300 then vat so 1527.50 ish. but anything unforseen or extras would soon push that over 2k

I\'ve heard pip\'s a bit of a genius but does anyone think a £1000 for a days labour is ridiculous, as it\'s just a day rate for a mechanic, i don\'t know any mechanic earning that a day - if anyone knows of any jobs going then i will leave my job as an electrician and become a mechanic.:Giggle

no...only the turbo converison...the other bits are kind of extras that you may not need with small turbos.  If you want to go with everything replaced then add another day or may be half:Giggle:Giggle

:Thumbsup! ask Kash

yeah I would say if all the parts were there and you are in a warm garage with the tools you could do it in a day. practically two days taking your time not making mistakes

would it be best to do it to an engine that has had some sort of porting to it?
I\'m looking into going single, but a to4e or s, but am unsure whether its worth it as the engine has stock porting?!

Sorry about the hijack or ur thread!

yep i learnt quite a few swear words that day hehe i think that hardest part was getting all the old twin turbo stuff off, some of the bolts were very hard to get off and some even snapped off (i guess they had been on there for 15 years) fitting the single kit was pretty easy, although i had no idea what could be removed and capped etc in the rats nest thats where dave came in handy :)

its really good as lee says but you need BIG ports.... just have to make sure the car is in a straight line before you boot it...

Is there any tutorials on what is capped and removed, with photos, i know there are diagrams but what about a step by step with pictures. that woudl save many people alot of money when they get the car taken to a specialist to sort the capped, removed re routed bits. ?????

I have been told by several people that your  .91 a/r exhaust was to small for my streetport and you need 115ar otherwise your kit looks good.
I am about to get a kit so will you fit it for me:)  My email is
 dmv123@btinternet.com thanks.
