Been doing some research on the US and Aus sites and it appears that the Haltech E6X is one of the highly regarded ECUs for the TII looking at costs importing one from Aus is probably the way to go, however don\'t seem to be many UK dealers so maybe not many people who can map a Haltech anyone know where I could get it done? Alternativly any other suggestions for a good ECU for an FC?
cheers

Apparently he maps these things and might be willing to travel. There is also a LARGE number of downloadable fuel maps for various (1/3 or more rotary maps!) Haltec ECUs and engines.
I guess if you got a Haltec, this would be your man...
Myself, I think I would likely go for a Motec M400 or M600.
After all, where I lived in Australia was only about 15km away from their head office. Gotta support local business and all that. ;)
Also try http://www.cyber-fish.com/efi/aftermarket.php (http://www.cyber-fish.com/efi/aftermarket.php) for a rundown of most of the aftermarket brain boxes and what they do and don\'t have tucked away inside them.
From looking at prices though, and from what I have learned in the last few hours of searching for info, I\'m definitely looking at a Motec before a Haltec. If I take my yet to be purchased RX7 to Australia after playing with it here for a while, I can at least get it on the road with the Motec, the Haltec isn\'t allowed to be used and still pass emmisions laws.
I tell ya, the way Australia is going I\'m kinda half glad I got outta there when I did! Law makers are killing everything there. :((((((((
HI,
I looked at the haltech, and found it to come highly recommended, i could not find any tuners in the uk. I now have a Microtech LT8, which is the new laptop programmable unit. You can get these from Pip at WGT. Although he is able to fit and map the unit, i installed mine and found it reasonably simple to install.
I hope this helps,
Regards
John
myself and a few friends are working on getting ready for the next version of the megasquirt and will be offering ready packages for certain cars and engines. T2 will be one of them.
If I get off my ar5e the current version will be doing ignition split soon, but first I have to get Carl\'s 26B ignition up and running.
But FWIW I would pick haltech as first choice for an ECU if I really felt the need to spend that much on it....but I don\'t
How is the E11 on 3+ rotors these days? I gave up waiting for some one to get it sorted when I was looking for an EMS for my 20B. A few people had them running I think but they were flakey to say the least.
How has development and bug fixing gone? any one know? the manual made it sound very interesting. I got bored with the squabbling (I think it was not long after \'Mr Haltech\' died?) on the yahho group and unsubscribed in the end :(
