Title: Anybody getting a sort of soft thud when engaging 1st gear?
Post by: Jimi_Hendrix on October 25, 2008, 02:41:35 AM
When i put the clutch in and engage first gear i hear a quiet thud from somewhere in the middle of the car. Gotta be the gearbox, but i dont know if thats the beginings of a problem? The gears all engage smoothley and never jump out or anything, just wondered if that sound was normal?

Thanks!

I\'ve noticed it on mine a few times so it\'s not just you!

could be gearbox mounts or driveframe mounts

I just figured it was the gear box clicking into gear. My nova used to do it if you really listened. Its just becasue the Box is behind you, not infront. I think anyway, i\'m happy to be corrected.
