Title: vacuum hoses on airbox
Post by: jackaleks on October 24, 2008, 10:21:10 PM
quick question, would there be any problems with removing these hoses from the airbox and sticking some of those mini breather filters on at the source of the hose?

thanks,

I would be guessing (I have an FC) that those are for the air pump, I have a breather filter on mine :)

One\'s for the stock dump valve to vent to the airbox quietly, ones for the CRV, likewise, one goes to the airpump, and one just flops out the side like the proverbial spare pr1ck and hangs limp under the box doing nothing very easy to understand without a handy Mazda technician to explain it. So yeah, you can replace the airbox with breather filters if ya like. :D hth

You run the risk of getting airpump mooing probs if you don\'t have a restrictor in the long pipe that comes from behind the plenum, though, which is harmless but embarassing :Giggle

to be honest, i\'d find it hilarious if my car went "mooooooo" just before burning someone away from lights :Giggle

cool, i didn\'t think there\'d be any problems... i\'ve done some measuring and i reckon i can fit a couple of K&N cone filters inside the box + some cold air ducting and there\'s a half decent induction solution!
