Sure its a stock ECU?

RE-Amemiya chipped \'stock\' ECU\'s often have a switchable boost feature...

Please ask them to give a photograph of the offending part so it can be read.

Some can read a little of that strange Japanese writing, and I happen to be one of them. I\'m not saying I can read it perfectly, but I can at least replicate it, cut and paste or run it through a few programs I have on this computer.

Nice to turn a page of text into something readable IF it appears to be interesting at first glance.

P.S. If you can get a good picture of one of these switches so the thing can be read, I should be able to tell you what it says, or at least what it means.

:D

Wouldn\'t 1.1bar knacker your engine fairly quickly ?

On stock turbos I\'ve been told 1 bar is too much in the past week

perhaps its set up for performance and not reliability ?

Can anyone else shed any light on what is acceptable boost level to run on stock turbos ?

Not usre what its running without the switch depressed, Id guess about .7 maybe .8 bar. .5KGm3 if the RE-A boost guage is anything to go by.

1.1bar is a lot to run on pump fuel and stock turbos.

High boost will try and twist a motor if its not pinned, and the harder you push generally the shorter engine life will be. If you are running your car tuned HARD then it only takes a bit of poo fuel to make a big mess of your motor and your wallet...

Stock tubbys produce a lot of heat when u run them at 14psi+ and often shit themselves (oil seals etc) pretty quick living such a life.

The symbol on that switch looks a lot like the one on my brothers MR2 Turbo, on his it turns the traction control off!
