I have taken my dash out today and found in the dash a box with Clarion written on it, it is wired into the other wiring in the dash but is not attached to the head unit directly, the head unit that came with the car when i bought it was some weird japanese make not clarion, and ever since i have had it ive had a alpine head unit. Anyone know what this is????

Is it not one of the BOSE amps?
is it maybe a amp for the standard head unit?? what make was the standard head unit in a FD??
i would not think its an amp,as the aftermarket head unit and speakes would not work?, si why would bose use a clarion amp?what colour wires are coming out?and how many?
is it the amp for the centre speaker in the middle of dash?
i doubt that crappy little thing would need a amp said 15w max on the bottom of it, i gently touched the cone and it fell apart lol

I don\'t know, but I\'ve got one connected to my Bose kit :)
well the centre speaker is gone so i assume i can disconnect this and get rid of it?
The BOSE system that came in my Type X was just a rebadged Clarion. Clarion made the system and they were just giving the Bose name. Hope this helps the mystery.............cheers Leigh.
cheers i think i know what it is now, i thought it was a standard part, i dont need it so will take it out. :Thumbsup!
