HOW DARE YOU! [Uses flame with flame suit!]
Thats a Revolution body kit and are actually an entirely different company to RE-Amemiya though
That looks amazing... very aggressive looking for an FD :King
Its Re-Amemiya\'s GT300 kit. I\'ve always wanted this kit but its stupidly expensive and not sure its really suited to the road.
This one has been modified a bit and is all in carbon (i think the normal kit is FRP). you could contact them direct or go through someone like RHDjapan and ask them about it.
I would of though it would come as the whole kit and not in seperate bits though.

Revo-Tune have been busy with this one for some time now, checking its progress in RX-7 Magazine, should do some good things at the Hyperbattle in a few months.
The kit wasnt built by re-A. Revolution just copied the GT300 and made it a little extra wild.
have they modified the kit for the revolution TA2 then? the arches look slightly different but think they look a lot better on the TA2 compared to the standard GT300...... the top of the arch seems to come higher & more curved & the lip also seems to look thinner... ????

think somehow the bumper looks slightly different too??? think its the slight differences that add up & make the TA2 look better somehow?? thoughts??
I think that they\'ve just cut into the arches more to get more clearence added some canards to the front bumper that makes it look so different. The previuos pictures would be the \'publics\' kit if you like, where as this one looks more like the true RE race car\'s one....

its a shame.... the subtle differences between the two kits really makes a difference. I love the TA2 kit but somehow i\'m not that keen on the GT300 kit... or am i just being too picky? haha. erm...hmmmmmm.... nope... still think the differences make it what it is. its also the way the arches seem to curve up higher on the TA2 & on the GT300 they look almost flat along the top... does everyone else see what i\'m seeing or am i being stupid?

If you have the money to get the kit and know of a good body shop to have it fitted then maybe they could change the kit to give you the look your after.
Dont forget that if you did get a widebody kit like this you\'ll have to get some wider wheels to fill the arches up properly.
Adam
newera say its a one off Kit not available to buy as far as they know :3Confused:mad: if i cant find anyone with any contacts i might have to resort to having something custom built & i dont really want to go down that road if i can help it, i\'d rather try & get one made & ship it over..... so...... anyone got any contacts that might be able to help??

Thats what i said. revolution made the kit, modled it off the GT300. contact revo-tune.
If you have the money then i think Re Amemiya would do you a carbon version of it. I seen one off carbon versions of some of their other kits in the past. Money talks :D

emailed them earlier today ..... fingers crossed for their response. its just the front end i\'m after really i\'m not that keen on the rear so i\'ll have to either find another kit for the back that suits (something really wide) or i\'ll have to have something custom built... all depends if they can supply me with the front end & sideskirts though.
anyone got any ideas/pics of nice wide rear wings that might suit??
Since its a race body you\'ll have to cut away all the original arches and probably change all the suspension arms to custom units since the cars roll centre will be entirley different being lowered so much and the wheels being so far from their original placement! Not your usual body kit!
Only Amemiya have a rear wide enough to suit that front end so you\'d have to custom make it from scratch if you don\'t get the whole kit.
regarding rear arches... found these.... maybe maybe... awaiting more pics so i can see them on different angles & maybe do a chop to see what it looks like when put together with the TA2 front end.

^ Listen to Ben, there is massive work to be done to get your car looking like the TA2, I was looking into it a few weeks ago- just look at a stock FD and a TA2, theres no way those panels are just going to slide into place!
I would really wont one of those sets on my car...:)

i\'m not known for going for the "easy option".... i\'d rather have a bit of a challenge & if the car ends up looking how i\'m imagining it... the money & the ballache will all be worth it.... i hope haha :driving
I saw the yellow Re-Amemiya N/A three rotor car at the motorsport japan festival in tokyo bay and its very very wide, unless you have a double garage, you may have problems:Laugh

again... i dont go for the easy option.... very shortly work will begin to take away my existing garage & build me a new garage on the side of my house...... instructions to builder = "as wide as you can make it my friend" .. there is space for it to be pretty wide so i should be fine. i will have to rip out the driveway gates though it\'d never fit through them haha. its all a dream at the minute i think i\'ll be looking into it properly for a few months before i make any moves to get the project off the ground. if i\'m going to do it... i\'m going to do it properly & not rush into it only for it to go horribly wrong:guinness.

Both these look very weak IMO. The wheels need to be brought further out to make it look good.
The carbon kit your looking at in your pics is the Amemiya 2002 wide body kit which is the road going version of there Super GT car (from 2002). Those rear arches are gonig to be about 50mm too short in width compared to the race going versions.
If your going to do it right you need to get the whole kit then tweak it - if your not liking the rear end. The Revolution car is based on Amemiyas 2005 Super GT car but they have tweaked it. The other aspect is you couldn\'t drive it on the road since it\'d be 20mm from the ground!
I\'m sure to buy the kit it will be at least 15K! But the custom tubular chassis and custom suspension arms will cost you at least another 15K before you\'ve even started on the engine lol! Good luck to you though I\'d have done the same had I enough funds!
I don\'t want to sound like I\'m trying to put you off ,but I researched and went through a similar process before going for a road/circuit car option rather than a trailor queen. Happy to offer you any help if you want to drop me a PM. :)
Royal - the reason the road going Super GT kit looks odd is because the car sits so much higher than the race version, just look at the space between the top of the tire and the top of the arches on them!! 6 inchs compared to 1 inch!
The RE-A GT300 car is a semi tubular car (that\'s why the bonnet can go so low between the lights. There is no way to get the race body properly fittd without doing some serious cutting of frame work....

The hood is in stock location, it`s just the fenders that are raised up alot...:yes
The kit will fit without cutting, but it would look strange.
Because u couldnt run the wheels u should..
And here is CF kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda-RX7-93-97-791-Carbon-Fiber-WIDE-BODY-KIT-FD3S_W0QQitemZ280277847184QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280277847184&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245
Hm... this kit has nothing to do with the kit, discussed here.
btw. you´ve maybe recognized how low the car is.
So it´s not only done with buying a bodykit and then you have a car like that.
They have push-rod Suspension setups etc. for sure.
I bet the suspension alone will cost as much as a standard Rx-7 :Hammer

If u hade used your eyes u would have seen that the comment was on the Re GT 300 kit, and not the Revolution kit..
And second if u se the gap between the wheel and the fenders on the Revolution car, it not that different from standar..
And u could buy the suspension kit from AtomicRex and u would probably get away with minimum of cutting in front..
The rear u would have to do same as I have done on my car, mabye some more.
But that would be no problem..
i\'m not going the whole hog to try & re produce the car to the same tech specs as the actual race version itself, i\'m more after trying to get the styling right on the front end. granted its going to have to sit very low for it to look right but if i can get the front arches, bonnet & front bumper then i shouldbe able to tweek things enough to make it fit & look how i want it to. the arches come higher than the normal bonnet line & the bonnet itself is flared at the edges to meet the arches & the arches curve round at the front to meet the bumper so i\'d need to get all 3 for it to sit right together. perhaps be better getting it in fibreglass so its easier to re mould & fit to my car.
i dont think the GT300 kit looks too bad on this one but i\'d still want the top curve of the front arches to come higher like on the TA2 & push the wheels out slightly to meet the arches better... then the bonnet too to flare up to meet the arches

I was refering to the REAL RE-A GT300 race car they use in the JApanese Touring championship. That\'s the car/kit that is in the first oictures. The yellow an white cars are just the \'road\' kits, which are totally different.
I have the magazine at my house where the RE-A GT300 race car has bene dismantled to the bone chassis.
The kits are nowhere near thesame

It would be cool to know what they want for the kit money-wise as it looks awsome! Hopefully your email will pay off and they\'ll make it for you!!:mmmm
I have the Amemiya mag too - the basis is very close, but I\'d swear I saw Amemiya with the Revo guys which made me think it was based on the Amemiya kit - may not be I suppose, but theres something telling me it is ha haa! Still at the end of the day the Revolution is the prettier of the two IMO!:Giggle

The US one is the 2000 version
The Yellow one is the latest version based on the 2004 design.

damn the front end is stunning
The Super GT is so much nicer on the eye!
I\'m sure the cost will be far too expense if they will sell it to the public.
The US replicas are certainly cheap knock offs lol!
i wonder how tricky it\'d be to try & modify the kit to look more like the real deal? maybe chop & re do the top curve of the arches & same with the bonnet then to meet them.....hmmmmmmmm
(no emails back from amemiya or from revolution .... looks like the custom build route is the way forward)
also....wonder what size rims i\'d need to make it look right... not sure if 18\'s would do it... if i went to 19\'s then would it have such a detremental effect on the handling/accelleration e.t.c.....?
Custom is the only way I\'d have thought, the US replica would need a fair bit of work to look like the Super GT car methinks!
Shame you had no replies back from Amemiya or Revolution even if it was to say no.
I run 18\'s with a mirror chrome lip and a lot of people think they are 19\'s so that could your answer!
just as a comparison....
do we have any bodywork experts on here that can tell us how easy/hard it would be to modify the arches to get the street kit looking more like the race kit??
Would be some work, but wouldnt be hard to do.
Just time consuming...:)
it looks to me as if i cut away the arch lip & re do the top curve it shouldn\'t be too difficult as long as the car sits low enough on the right rims for it all to look right together... if not then it could end up looking a mess
Yes, u would need to just modify the fender so it would be like the GT.
Then make a new molde of it.
you mean then to re cast the whole wing from that mould? or would it be possible to just modify the kit instead of having to make moulds e.t.c. ? providing it was done properly ... i can work fairly well with fibreglass but i\'ve never delved into making new moulds e.t.c. i\'ve modified a few kits before slightly but not on an FD.
U could just modify it, but I would have made a molde.
Think making a molde would be the way to go..
think i\'d have to modify it to be honest... i\'d be fairly confident doing that but with me not having made moulds before i\'d have to probably pay someone else to do it & then i wont get that same "look what i did" kind of satisfaction...
