Title: My RX7..
Post by: Retro_Boy_G on October 12, 2008, 09:48:12 PM
It\'s not finished yet but it was a nice day and i gave her and the civic a clean and just wanted to take some pictures.. I hate taking pictures of the cars on my drive way as the angle makes them look funny.. but you get the picture anyways.. next mods are window tints (im going to attempt it myself) and lowered suspension.. still toying with spoilers too.. The exhaust pipes look a bit squint for some reason.. haha.. must be my magic photography skills.. as i can asure you they are fine!

Mods ive done.. Trim colour coded, rear window wiper removed, arcade button mod, new steering wheel, new alloys and low profile tyres, spoiler removed, New rear lights.. added some blue bolts in the holes where the spoiler came off.. kinda gay, but better than having holes..

Things to do.. Lowered, Tinted, Sunroof rust fixed, Rear reg plate spot light cover painted white, "maybe" debadge it, Centre caps, Paint Calipars, bigger exhausts!.. the list goes on!

Enjoy..

been waiting for this thread for a while :D

The car looks ace mate!

Not sure if it needs a spoiler tho
An "RX-7" badge in the style of the mazda badge would make it look much better imo
It would also look amazing lowered as the wheels seem quite small, this would be fixed with the lowering.
Also i think it may look good with some small spacers on the front, could be the pics, but it looks  like the front wheels have a diff offset to the rears.

anyway, awesome car!!! i wish mine looked like that :D

Thanks for the nice comments guys. :)

The back wheels are bigger than the front. 9J and 8J i believe? As for the badge.. i have tried tracking down an original one but never had any luck.. The holes aren\'t there anymore to clip one on so i would need to cut the pegs off if i did get one and just glue it on.. In photoshop i took away the badges and made the little reg plate flood lights white and it looked amazing!..

The exhaust is a Rotecknics exhaust i believe.. has a very unusual sound.. quite tinny.. but the new tail pipes bring down the rattle a bit.. i think id like something a bit deeper sounding.. but i\'m happy with it all the same.. I\'ll get some video clips up for you guys. It\'s 17" alloys on it.. the tyres are very low profile which i guess makes them look alot smaller than you would think.. once it gets lowered this should sort that out though..

I think the project will be on hold until after xmas now.. need to save up for presents..

Jimmy - It was the big East Kilbride Cruise.. Max Power and Fastcar magazine were there.. it was absolutely jumping! Such a good night.. loads of cool cars there.

M1tch - If i could get one delivered or find one locally then i would jump at it in a heart beat.. same with the spoiler!.. The hunt goes on.. :(

take it you took off the lip type spoiler from the rear? they actually look quite cool, common in the US but quite rare over here. I have one for my Cab but in two minds whether to fit it, dont want to go drilling holes and then change my mind. Best to keep looking at pictures until you see the one you want.  What is the offset on your alloys, they do fit rather lovely and nice colour in car, one of my favoutite colours.

I keep going on and off the idea of a big bad ass GT style spoiler.. i believe they look best on a car with a body kit but i get the feeling i could get away with it on this car.. I was also maybe going to paint the original spoiler white but i\'m unsure if the paint would stick to it.. i\'m also waiting for a guy on Driftworks getting back to me about a Turbo spoiler.. The problem also with the GT spoiler is there isn\'t much room to screw it on unless you got one that bolts top down and from the back..

Thanks for your nice comments on the wheels.. :)  I\'m not actually sure what the offset is.. the back are much wider and deep dished than the front.. thats all i know! haha..

Here are some new pics from the show.. including some of my car.. with a nice little interior shot at the end.. excuse the low quality of the pics as they were reduced so they could be sent via email.. id be interested to hear your comments on the Pug.. it\'s not anyone i know so say as you wish! haha..
