Title: Complete electrics loss
Post by: dj_dee99 on October 12, 2008, 02:45:40 PM
I\'m getting quite a strange problem.

Sometimes, on turning the ignition key, I\'ll get a loud click & everything goes dead. Absolutely no power left. And on a second turn, nothing at all.
Disconnecting & reconnecting the battery earth will sometimes give the same problem again, or sometimes it will start up.
It\'s as if the battery is completely dead. Except, it obviously isn\'t, as it will eventually power the starter.

Anyone have any idea at all what is going on? I could do with sorting this, as it is pretty annoying.

do all your lights go off & loose power to everything in thew car, or is it just that the starter motor isn\'t kicking in??

If it\'s just the starter motor, get under her & check all the cables on the starter solonoid. it only takes one corroded conection to bugger you about!! or it could be the starter itself that is on the way out!
