Title: Ticking sound when the ignition is on accesory position
Post by: Jimi_Hendrix on October 11, 2008, 07:25:14 PM
I hope this dosnt get me the flaming of the century! Lol!...

.... but!

When i get in the car and turn the ignition to the accesory position - just before the final one that cranks the starter motor - i hear a sort of relay clicking sound and then a continuous tick a tick a tick a tick a tick a tick from the under the hood.

I guess the relay click sound is the fuel pump priming or something, but should there be a continuous tick until i crank the engine? Because when the car is running this ticking stops.

Is it normal? I tried a search but got no helpfull results.

Yes i am a little bit of a dunce BTW :Giggle
