depends - if it runs for the next 40K with no probs then yeah it was too cheap

if it goes bang in 3 days - then its about right

its not the best listing to be honest - if i had a car with all those goodies i would certianly do a better write up

there could be a reason is sooo cheap - kiddy/house move/price of fuel

i dont think its the best market at the mo - so its priced to sell in my eyes ?

Stu

Ok thanks, how can the write up be improved?

It was bought cheap, as the guy had to sell to buy a family car...

the add needs more details, describe the car, how it drives, good and bad points, when it\'s had services, mot, tax, compression results, describe the wheels (think they are AVS Model 5\'s) interior state, any and all mods carried out on it, what ecu it\'s running. The list goes on and on, check other ads and copy what they\'ve used. Easy really, lol. Best way to sell is to make people want it

Thanks for that...I guess the reason for not \'trying\' to sell it to people...is that I dont actually want to haha
 But I will improve it!
 Thanks guys! :cheers

ahhh so its yours !! LOL :D

depends if you want to go into the nitty gritty with elec windows , elec mirrors , PAS etc..

prob more useful for a new owner is total miles ( on the chassis ) - any mot - any advisorys , what are the tires like , what are the brakes like

any pics of the mazdaspeed logos on the parts ( if there are any )

what tax bracket its in ( if its a 1.3 then thats superb )

there are loads more to lure in potiential buyers :D

Way too cheap.  Even if it was just a roller it should bring more than that.  The US market appears to be more pricey than the UK though.  #rd gens are hard to find here.

thing is there are cars going for £3k-£4.5k with recent rebuilds, but there are still some going for £5.5 - £7k it is all down to:
a) how desperate you are to sell
b) condition of the car (asthetics play a big part these days)
c) history (proof of rebuilds - serviceing etc)

if the prices drop then thats im happy as i dont own one now :p but means that I can buy one in a year or so thats at least decent as i soooo badly miss driving an rx7.

I think that this advert really needs more detail. Id put in the vitals, such as how much MOT and Tax number of owners and service history, how long its been in the country for etc.  You will probably get hounded by people asking you the same stuff over and over otherwise esp from pistonheads.

Mileage and type of use are a big factor - the engine is only one part of the car.  You need to take into account wear on the suspension, turbos, engine ancillaries, interior wear, body corrosion etc.

I\'m gona say that\'s the right price... either the paint looks faded, engine bay tired & the lines around the pop ups look off OR the pics aren\'t very flattering... black up those tyres and wack it back on for 5k :Giggle.

this is getting really depressing. I paid 5k for mine in jan. I have just had it rebuilt and it looks like it\'s worth even less. O well good news is I will just have to keep it. :-)
Still least it\'s no where near as boring or bad as buying a new ford fiesta in jan. As that\'s what the car owes me money wise

It is depressing mate, but then again your not the only one who\'s FD owes them alot more than the current market value.

The main problem with the prices and the way they are going is this:

If the average cost of a rebuild is around £3K and you\'ve got cars with rebuilds going for around £3.75K then it\'s basically saying a blown rx7 is worth about £750.  Now then if prices carry on falling to the point where an average rebuilt FD is worth the same as an engine rebuild then the actual FD itself is worthless.

If that becomes the case then people would rather just buy a rebuilt FD than buy the car + cost of rebuild.  Therefore you end up with a surplus of blown FD\'s that are  hypathetically worthless.  Therefore only thing is either break them or scrap them.

On the upside if this does happen and we eventually come out of this credit crunch then the FD will be alot rarer than before, and as it stedily enters into the state of being a classic then it will demand a higher price tag....... technically?

Anyway thats my 2p...... or in the current market 1p. :D

Its not the cleanest of cars to be honest, panel gaps and shoddy paintwork.

If it was mine I probably wouldnt have even bothered paying the 3kish to get it rebuilt.

Still, since it now has a new engine with paperwork to prove, plus the warrantee and if it has a good service history..id say its worth closer to £4,500/£5,000.

Although, saying that...there are a lot of other cars with fresh rebuilds but in better overall condition going for 5/6k...so how much would a respray cost??

I agree with everyone else though, definately make much more of an effort in the Advert. Could be the best car ever, but, if its that cheap and the advert is written poorly or doesnt tell me what I want to hear, I`d just move on.
