Hey guys, just thought id introduce myself and my car. I just bought this 1990 Turbo II having just sold a 1990 siR Civic CRX. I love it so far! Lol! Never owned a Mazda before, far less a rotary so i\'ll need to do a lot of sluthing around here for tips and tricks.
I\'m in two minds wheather or not to put a GP Sports body kit on it though (been onto the Replikit boys about that) because the bodywork is so nice and original as is.
Defo want to up the power a touch and put on some Rota GTR alloy wheels :mmmm on though! so watch this space!

Looks to be in nice condition, whats the mileage/history like?
:wave
Hi, wotcher and welcome :Thumbs-up. Lovely looking car, I love TII coupes in black, they just look proper hard! No need to worry about being new to the world of rotaries, I was too until I bought my first RX-7, basically because it was pretty. There\'s everything you need to know on this site, and if you can\'t find it yourself, someone will tell you the answer
just one question......have you ever been experienced?! :Giggle Or are you a voodoo chile?
Bret, the milage has just roled onto 60,000. With a bit of service history as well. Seems to be in good nick yes! Absoloutley no rust anywhere though there does seem to be evidence of some minor rust repair around arch areas.
Thanks Nik, Yeah total Rotary n00b! Lol! Always admired them from afar though so now is the time to dive in head first!:) And in answer to your question? I am of cource an uber experianced Voodo chile! After all..... i wrote those songs! :D
Blimey! Truly, I am not worthy! :god You\'re holding up remarkably well, if I may be so bold, for someone who died the month I was born! Or was that Jim Morrison? I forget now....
Never mind your car mate (which is very lovely btw:Thumbs-up and welcome to the club:wave) do you fancy giving some guitar lessons to a very willing student?? :D:D
Adam
hey welcome to the site very nice FC :Thumbsup!
OOOO thats basically the car I was going to buy, they look fab in black :D shame the guy I was gonna buy my black 1 off smashed it up :(
Remember:
1. Warm up before driving off - when its cold, drive it like its broken, when its warm, drive it like you stole it
2. Oil...mineral...change reglarly...keep checking the levels
3 Coolant good...no coolant bad :)
4. 99RON or high octane fuel only, performance car, performance fuel
5. Cool the turbo down before shut down
6. Do all the safety mods before boosting higher (fueling, Ignition brakes)
7. Enjoy :D
Thanks for the welcome and positive coments guys! Appreciate those few pointers there M1tch.:Thumbs-up
Oh - and i know this going to disapoint you all - but..... i\'m not really Jimi. :(
This will disapoint you all EVEN more though! Brace now!
Jimi drove a Lotus! :2Confused Well he was often a bit spaced out! Lol!
Awwwwwwww i miss my black coupe after seeing those pics

haha that one always makes me laugh
Welcome to the forum and nice FC you have there. If your gonna be driving it around over winter I would advise getting it wax oiled underneath to stop all the salt from our roads eating it away.
Like your thinking adereed! I defo want to look into some sort of galvanising/undersealing and all round rust protection before the dreaded "red devil" rears its arse ugly head! :reallymad My poor little CRX was starting to sucumb to it in the end!!
Hey Retro_Boy_G i\'m in Glasgow too! :Thumbsup! Or rather just skirting the edge of it. I live in Bishopton near Erskine. Where are you? I NEVER see any other FC\'s or FD\'s!
Ahh, i\'m on the other side of Glasgow then.. a place called Hamilton. I\'ve seen an FD about here but never an FC. We need to meet up sometime.. would be good to get some pics together.
Yeah man, i\'d be up for that. You have an FC yeah? Turbo II? Cabrolet?
My Coupe was undersealed probably about a decade ago lol its the only reason mine is rust free lol when/if I get mine resprayed im getting mine done in black cause it looks fab shiny:

Oh and by the way, your missing your stock turbo II front splitter, if you look under the bumper you will see whats left of it after the previous owner would have damaged it and it would have come off, this is what it looks like:
I\'ve just got a N/A FC.. as basic as they come but with a bit of a face lift.. spends most of its time locked up in the garage staying away from the "awesome" Scottish weather!
Is that a garage or a container? ;)
a garage.. but it is wrapped up in cotton wool and has a blanket.. :Giggle
Lol! Know how you feel Retro! I\'m a posty so i have to pound the streets in it! But yeah would like to see your FC sometime.
Any idea where i might get a replacement Turbo splitter then m1tch? I had no idea there was supposed to be one there! :2Rolleyes Thanks for lettin\' me know! Lol!
Oh and what sort of wheels is that black shiner sporting? They look prety lush!

Luckly the FC is my Sunday car and i have another car to get me through this weather.. It can\'t be fun working in this weather just now.. its damn cold. Today was quite nice though..

Cheers mitch, i just did a search through the forum and a few posts came up claiming that those splitters seem to be rarer than rocking horse s#*t :reallymad. Ah well, i\'ll keep an eye out for turbo II\'s breaking.

Well I have one that is in need of repair and one that has been repaired but needs a little tweak to finnish it off. I would like to keep one as a spare for now but I am open to offers on either of them. Both are in red.
there was never such a thing as a STOCK front spitter - i think they were a factory option - i had a UK spec TII with the last owner for 9 yrs - and it didnt have the splitter
That car looks bloody fantastic :cool
ill email your adreed :D
Hey bud, nice car u got there!

I\'ll give you 30 quid for the one that needs a tweek? And i\'d manage to come and get it on Sunday if thats ok? Any chance of a pic though?
Alright J, Welcome to the club, bit late but here all the same. Im guessing this is the Rex you brought instead of mine?
Very nice looking fc. Like it alot, a friend of mine had one just like that, rotary_rogers from this forum and its what got me into them.
Good luck with it and keep the pics rolling in with updates of how it all goes

Yeah thats it, i\'m only thinking of putting wheels and and exhaust system on her now actually. I was thinking about a GP sports body kit but she just looks too good standard! Lol!
Thanks for the positive coment dude and again good luck with shifting the GTX on.
I\'ll take a pic of the splitter asap as I don\'t have any on my computer right now. I\'ll be wanting a fair bit more than £30 mind as you just can\'t find them really nower days plus I\'ve put a good few hours onto fixing it.
He\'s a pic of one on my car.
60 clams then? Was it split or cracked or something? And what "tweekige" would be needed to finish it?
You\'d be looking at £100 min really. It needs sanding down on one edge re-fibreglassing for strength and the filling and sanding back to flat. I know it sounds a lot but these things are getting oooober rare now. Hence me fixing them insted of binning them!
I may even be able to get it dropped off as we do a lot of work up your neck of the woods. I\'d have to talk nicely to my boss though!
Hmm, in that case i might just leave it then. Thanks anyway manny.
Actually second thoughts i\'ll take it, but you\'ll have to give me a few more close up pics (just so i know the state of it) if thats ok? Any idea when you\'d be able to drop it off , and can i just pay you cash then? No rush mind.
It would have to be as and when one of the vans is passing though. We work all over Scotland so that might not be so hard to sort out. If not i\'ll arrange a courier or something. I\'ll get some pic\'s today so you can see exactly what it is and how its been fixed up. And also what has to be done to finnish it off!. Thats the hardest bit just finnishing it as I don\'t have much free time at the moment. If you deffo want it though I\'ll do it asap after work one night or something. Whats you email address so I can send some pic\'s your way and we can discuss it further.
Just checked my email and there are 2 of you after this splitter so to keep it fair I will finnish off the splitter then pop a for sale post up one here. I will then email both of you with a link to it. That way its fair and square. Sorry if that seems odd but I recieved email about it last night and this seems like the fairest way for you both or others.

Any update on that splitter adereed?
Just trying to get hold of some fibreglass matting and resin. The guy I normally get it off has retired so i\'m finding someone else who can sell me some cheap. If I can\'t get any I\'ll have to get some from Halfrauds but you get bugger all for your money from there. I\'ll keep you posted.
Cheers dude, appreciate it.:wave
