yep "sicknote" on mrc as well. His name is Dave and he is "sympathetic" to the issues around the rotary and emissions.

If your car is safe, not rusty in the wrong places and is road worthy you should have no worries there.

There is always the question of "should it have a CAT" and hence pass the relevant emissions test to consider?

If it\'s post whatever date it is (differs dependant on all sorts) then not having a CAT could be a problem...

Pinched from another forum (although I\'m not an MOT tester so don\'t know 100% if this is the truth):

Rules are simple;

Pre august 1992, no cat required, provision in mot for testing cars registered Aug 1992 to Dec 1992 to be tested as non cat cars late registered...

Jan 1993 to Aug 1995 all cars tested must have an exact match to make model etc in either the exhaust emissions catalogue or in the test stations gas analyser (hence imports can generally not be CAT\'ed)

After Aug 1995 no exact match required but has to meet basic cat requirents though...

No, the great news is that Dave will look after you being a rex owner himself. He\'s even helped me put a new exhaust on.

I drive from Milton Keynes every year to get mine MOT\'d by TVM, and so does my brother, no one else will do. :)

You don\'t need a cat, but do still have to pass an emissions test of CO gas at 3.5% volume and hydrocarbons at 1200 ppm volume

Went Friday and was quite happy with the service as I passed the MOT without any problems after failing a week ago in other place near home.
Would take my car there next year as well even though I live in Brighton.

It was quite an adventure as my laptop, (that I was using as a sat-nav) run out of battery and got lost in Reading and then in my way back to Brighton as well.
