Just wondering what cool pictures you guys and girls have as your background? Not just car pictures but anything at all :)

I tend to change mine fairly often cos I get bored of the same thing all the time. Some examples are like;

A strange case of parallel evolution to Jono,

Never get tired of looking at under-the-skin shots of cool Mazdas,
[ATTACH]41275[/ATTACH]

Or cool pics from Star Wars, for that matter,

Then, of course, there\'s always the missus if all else fails,

But usually, and I know I\'m sad here, li\'l Mr Conrad manages to star in such a ridiculously cute photo that he ends up hogging the wallpaper!

I normally run the 2 screens at home or the 50" plasma, so my desktops are all widescreen. I\'d like to get several like the one of the Earth and use a moving desktop video program so it looks like you are orbiting the planet on your desktop. Sure it could be done without too much pain.

Wow! That\'s an awesome shot for a mobile, dude. I got an N73 when I renewed my contract last time, not through choice, I might add, they just sent me it, and I HATE everything about it, except the camera. Which as you\'ve just proved, is really quite god!

its not a bad camera to be honest - 3.2mb one - so it does take nice pics - you just have to be outside in good light !!

The pics were taken at the Willington power station, no longer in use and set for demolition this year but still there at the mo ?

On a seperate note and me being a dumb ass. How do you insert that big size pic into a thread like this. When ever I try to upload a large pic it always fails cause its too big.

If you do it in PhotoShop, you can resize the pic separate from the amount of memory it takes up, if that makes sense. So, I just use the "resize" command under the "image" menu to make it about 800 pixels wide, cos then it fits on just about any forum. The use the "save for web" function on the "file" menu. It\'ll come up with a comparison of the origanl and new picture files, with a box of instruction to the left. There\'s a slider control in the left-hand box that comes up when you click on the arrow next to "quality". You just adjust the slider so the memory the pic takes up is small enough to post on the site.

To be fair, MRC seems quite generous in how big it allows photos to be, both size and memory. There\'s probably an far easier way to do it but I\'m no certainly no computer genius, so I tend to stick to what I know works! HTH

The other way, I guess, would be to host it on Photobucket or whatever, but I\'ve never got into that, so someone else\'ll have to explain that to both of us!

If you look in the "manage attachments" link from the Reply window, then it shows the MRC board allows a max of 1100 x 1100 pixels on any picture attachment. Anything bigger it will refuse.

Just got back from Dubai and the Burj Dubai is amazing. The guy operating the crane working at the top only comes down once a week because it takes too long!

Been a fan of his work now for many years, just a shame (not for him) that now he is an established artist his work is very costly, the above stencil was a print of 25, then signed by Banksy and they wanted £4K for it!! a few years I back remember seeing some of his work go for only a few hundred! should have jumped at the chance then...

My current desktop is actually a scan of a portrait I did for a friend of mine a long time ago. It turned out pretty close to life, which is rare for my scribblings. Usually people like a portrait to look at least vaguely like them, which is why I don\'t often do them to avoid dissapointment lol. Although, I was obviously going through a Pre-Raphaelite phase at the time cos she also looks like a Waterhouse girl. Anyway, I found it in a drawer and it brings back good memories so I put it as my background :o No idea where she is now. Bet she hasn\'t got hair like that any more though :rollin
