Title: down pipe
Post by: turbo boy on October 05, 2008, 04:33:43 PM
Hi there, we have have just put the lamba sensor in my new trust down pipe from my old standard downpipe. The trust pipe has another threaded hole underneath where the sensor goes, the standard downpipe only had one threaded hole for the lamba sensor. What is this second hole for?:xconfused  cheers

That would be for an EGT Gauge sensor.

More than likely for a Exhaust temp sensor, you sometimes find them there or even on the manifold itself.

If it\'s the same size as the lambda sensor hole it\'s an additional hole for a wideband sensor.

Some companys would insist on an extra hole to put a wide band sensor so they can map /tune the car.
