Title: FOR SALE - 1989 FC3S GTX "Dai Chan RX7"
Post by: Woodsy on September 28, 2008, 02:07:09 PM
Afternoon all,

Long time no speak, hope you are all well.

Unfortunatly just 10months after importing the legendary "Dai Chan RX7" im having to sell it on for a new owner to enjoy. I am moving to the french alps and it is not practical to take it with me. If i had the money or any plans to return then I would store it but it just doesnt seem right having such an awesome car in a warehouse gathering dust.

Im going to be as thorough and as truthful as I can be with this sale post so there will be no surprises or dissapointment if anyone comes to view her.

Ok:

-1989 Mazda RX7 Gen2 - FC3S - GTX(import)
-Resprayed TopSecret Yellow by Top Secret\'s own bodywork/spray shop
-Running on Kei Office coilovers
-18" Advan Racing Lightweight Rims
-Bomex Aero Body Kit (first car to style this particular kit)
-Momo Race Wheel
-Bride Bucket Seat (driver only)
-Sony CD/MD player with thier Xplod ranger speakers (front only)
-Razo Gear Shifter
-Air Conditioning
-Electric Windows
-Built in rear fog light (added when car arrived in the uk)

The cars mileage reads 112500(time of pics) although the majority of that figure was run in kilometers whilst in Japan. With conversion your looking around the 80,000miles mark.

When i brought the car from Power Vehicles 10months ago I was told that the engine had been rebuilt by Re-Amemiya although I cannot prove this as all the paperwork I have is in Japanese.

As far as im concerned the car is mechanically sound and ive had no problems with it since I have had it. Saying this one minor fault I have noticed is that the car seems to have a sticky actuator meaning every once in a while it doesnt run full boost. Im told this is not a major problem.

Here are some pictures taken today:

There have been no engine modifications to this car, although it does have a Bailey Motorsport dump valve and a turbo-back stainless steel(I forget the make of it).

Now for the bad points to this car:

-Motor for Electric Windows has burnt out and will need replacing
-Rear parcel shelf is missing
-Some scuffs on the alloys from loading onto the boat :3Confused
-Plastic trim on front air vents has been cracked
-Plactic trim on top air vents has been cracked one side and removed the other
-Plastic trim around the steering column has been screwed down to tight and cracked slighty
-Rear speakers were stolen when the car was on the boat :reallymad
-Drivers door handle/mechanism need looking at or replacing, can be tricky to open and unlock if you do not know the method.

All of the above are not serious problems and sound worse than they are.

One thing I need to point out is the set up of the coilovers. They have been set up for track use and the super smooth Japanese roads. Although the car handles like an absolute demon it is very uncomftable on the UK roads, incredibly hard ride. I have the tools to adjust them but never got round to it.

Lastly, there are a few minor bodywork issues that need pointing out but I have some pictures to show you:

Ok, im pretty sure that is everything.

Im looking for £2000 for her as I move very soon and really want to see her go to a new home before then. The car has 6months MOT left and 12months TAX

She really is a lovely car and a real head turner and i hope somebody that aprechiates RX7s comes and gives her a better home.

If your interested or want to know more you can message me on here or give me a call on 07809467179.

Thanks for reading.

Hi mate, the engine is unmodified and although ive never actually had it on the rolling roads the import company who helped me get it over here told me to expect just shy of 200bhp at full boost.

As i am looking for something now and if i cant find anything suitable the style and stance of your FC is very nice :cheers

I suppose i could transplant a engine at a latter time ?

nice car but no point sticking an FD Engine it. you can get as much power out of an FC engine.  How have you tried selling it? is it advertised anywhere?
