Title: dyno\'d power limit reached
Post by: cyman on September 27, 2008, 06:50:09 PM
when i first got my car i had some work carried out and got reworx to set it up i got 309 rwhp with 369 fwhp .8 bar
i have since added a trust standard fit ic,twinpower, fuel regulator and carried out the fuel pump mod.

went back to reworx to get this setup checked and tweaked they increased the boost to around 1 bar and got some small gains in the midrange but the peak was almost exactly the same any opinions on the the reason?? reworx reckoned turbo limit or exhaust limit reached but was wondering if anyone has had the same thing.

my setup in more detail is as follows:

rotechnics street ported motor done about 10k miles
turbotechnics turbos done around 10k miles
apexi intake filters and hardpipes
running non sequential (proper setup not poor mans)
trust standard fit ic with hardpipes
feed exhaust downpipe
reworx own silenced cat replacement pipe
generic cat back exhaust (70-80mm same as the downpipe and cat pipe)
uprated fuel pressure regulator
uprated rad
hks twinpower
fuel pump wiring mod
injectors running at around 89% and only upto mid 90,s at 1 bar
hks boost controler
apexi powerfc

anyone got any ideas???

cheers

The main trouble with the twins are the more boost you try to get out of them the more heat is generated. After a point around 0.9-1.0 bar the gains just don\'t happen, the heat takes most of the denisty of the charge out of the equation.

The most I saw with my stock twins on a stock ported rebuilt engine was 380fwhp.

well i am seeing 370fwhp at pretty much standard boost levels but i have a very quiet exhaust setup which is around 95db\'ish so i guess that is prob the first thing keeping the power at that level.

for me that power is pretty nice was just wondering after the trust smic, fuel pump and twin power why it didnt go up any further.
