They make more than one set for the FD, the do the HA which are mega but wonga expensive and the PCV which won\'t set fire to your bank managers hair. I\'m sure there are more so...:p

I will need some good coilovers, not cheap ****.

If I want cheap **** I would buy K-sport..:2Rolleyes

Needs to be 800 lb/in  or 14 kg/mm in spring rate..:)

Do you guys buy straight from Öhlins?
Mabye I can buy the front coilovers from you to, would be some what custom in front..:)

Ohlins have been bought out at least in part by Kawasaki AFAIK now so some of their production will be in Japan; so we should be able to buy straight from them but as I say I\'d need to check properly before hand.

If you want the best of the best supension for the FD then I would go for the Quantum RS coilovers they are 20kgmm F & R with adjustable bound and rebound. RE-Amemiya even use them for their touge and time attack cars.

20Kg/mm Is to much for the rear, u wouldnt get the power to the ground..

And as I can`t use the FD coilovers in front I will only need the rear..:yes

I have to have custom made in front..

My god man!

What on earth are you building! :chat

20kg/mm is great to stop the weight shifting very much helping the car to pivot closer to the centre forcing a very neutral handling feel. To get the best out of it you need to be a real veteran driver though! An ideal for the FD is to get a very precise 50/50 F&R weighting then go for same size front and rear tyre and same spring rate. Thats pretty much the best setup.

Most companies go for slightly softer rear like a 14/10 to help you feel confident by giving you understeer near the limit and get better traction at exit at the cost of outright cornering speed. Of course if you want to drag the car then throw all these principals out the window!

We will go all the way on this car...:Giggle

I will have 18kg/mm in front and 14Kg/mm in the rear..
If the car is to stiff you will just get wheelspin, and that`s no no..:Giggle
With the org sway bar in the rear and Tri point in front.

And to get weight shift u use the brakes and the trottle, that is something u will have to do regardless of suspension setup...:yes

And u can se what I`m building in my project tread..:yes

Good news; I have found the coilovers you were talking about @ 14kg/mm just seeing if I can just get hold of the rears now! :Thumbsup!

Sorry to jump in, but the Ohlins from Japan are not the same as Ohlins from Europe. If you after European built Ohlins with proper spring rates (not ones that make you brain rattle), and ones that will fit the FD (and can be setup with your own spring rates with damping to match) then you need to speak to Gary at Rotaryart who will be able to supply them direct from Aurok UK for you. Not cheap at all, even for 2 way adjustable. 3 way are very (and I don\'t mean 3 or 4k) expensive. I mean very expensive.
I\'ve a set of 2 way adjustable, remote reservoid Ohlins from Aurok on my car. Very good, excellent spring rates, good damping, very recommended if you are racing.

I would have a look into Bilstein or Aragosta.... But then again, the Japanese ohlins that are remote reservoired (spelling) are top of the line.
And they do make the Fastest timeattack cars in Japan sit to the ground..

When it comes to Springs I know that Swift makes springs for numerous coilover setups.
Including the coilovers for the Amemiya SuperGT car.
I would say any good coilover builder should be able to provide you with the springs you want. And I am sure that both Bilstein,Aragosta,Ohlins(Japan) and Quantum could.

I once heard somewhere that its Yamaha that actually make the Ohlins in Japan :3Confused

We have some FEED F03KAI coilovers for sale which have 18kg springs on them front and back, but no adjustable damping im afraid. Did see some lovely Aragosta\'s in Japland though :2eek
