I was over on rx7club.com but the European following over there seems to be very limited and was directed to come here for some proper answers.
I\'ve always been a fan of the FD3S and am now potentially going to purchase one as a project car. I recently moved to London from Washington D.C. (USA) and am itching to start a project car once I am fully settled. And of course, the FD3S is in my top 3 of potential projects.
A little background. My most recent project in the states was a 03 Honda S2000 which I turbo charged. The car was pushing out 450rwhp/320rwtq at 15psi using a GT3076R, and using a stand alone Hondata Kpro (swapped over from an AEM EMS due to emissions). And yes, she was a daily driver and also track driven (road track).
A few pictures of her.

Well my main questions would be ...
- Which performance (http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=786704#) shops in England should look into? In terms of getting work done. (for rotary and non rotary engines)
- Which shop in England or Europe for that matter are known for tuning? Using any of the the Apex-i Power (http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=786704#) FC, HKS F-Con, AEM EMS, or Motec?
- Are there any specific laws in the UK I should keep in mind before I start a project? Loudness of the car, emissions standards, what\'s \'technically\' legal and not legal and so forth.
Thanks in advance for any help.
very nice i really like the s2000, alot of my mates are really into there hondas, that is a very nice example of a s2000
Welcome to the club, the S2000 is a very nice car, yours looks the business, thats the car i would buy if i did not have a rex, have a look at the advertisers at the top, most will be able to help and advise you.
there are quite a few rotary specialists dotted around the country, you will find different people recommending you to different ones. Not sure but i think the nearest to you will be Hayward Rotary, ive never been there myself but they have a good reputation, most of the tuners are on here, myslef i use RX Motors in Blandford Forum. Also different people would recommend different people for ecu mapping, the guy i use is the only guy i would let touch my map and im sure other people feel the same about there mapper. However he lives near Bristol which is quite a way from you.
Ive bought alot of stuff from the states from //www.rx7store.net and they have good prices, some people have had problems with then on here but they have always been good to me
Thanks for the nice comments about my S2000. I miss the car to death to be honest.
I\'ve also come across this over my research. http://www.jimmys-rx7.co.uk/ Anyone have any feedback on this shop? They seem to sell Rx-7\'s as well.
Also, how does MOT work? Would I have issues passing if I went with an Apex-i Power (http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=786704#) FC?
Hmmm - regarding Tuners near london, there\'s:
*) PowerGains motor sport
*) Hayward Rotary
*) Super7 Autos
*) Jimmy\'s
*) Re-Worx (i think - they\'re in portsmouth iirc)
*) Rotechnics (when they come out of administration)
I\'ve not used any of them yet (although mine goes to Jason at Super7 this weekend for a service - popped in last weekend, looks a good setup). However, with the exception of Powergains, the rest are well outside london.
They should all be able to do a good job of mapping / tuning etc. i think.
As to legal issues - as long as the RX is old enough, it doesn\'t have to meet the current emision targets (only the older, higher, targets). Otherwise, the only limits you\'re likely to run into are around noise but there\'s no fixed legal limit for cars (technically shouldn\'t be louder than stock, but others here have run at up to 113DB iirc - Ash?).
