Hi Toker.
The 12a did come out as a turbo engine from Mazda and also Elford over here in the UK did produce a turbo kit thatw as approved by Mazda and quite a number of cars were sold with it on.
The boost level is quite low in either guise, around 6 psi.
But with the lower compression rotors from an origianl Mazda turbo 12A and after market management and fueling it is possoble to make alot more power.
Regards
Carl

Best bet for cheapeness would be an elford turbo kit, they use an SU carb.
How much can you budget for?

want to keep it as cheap as possable as i always end up spending a small fortune like i did on my last skyline..
i could fab up the manifolds ok,do you mean the su carb such as that was used on a series turbo metros?
were would be a good place to look for an elford kit?
what size of turbo did they use?
thanks
andy

it might be better to drop a T11 engine in, you can pick up complete cars cheap enough, and if you can do a lot of work yourself you are saving, as always depends on your budget.
check out rx7club.com they do a lot of blow through turbo set ups with 45DCOE\'s
