Title: Mapping from Roetecnics
Post by: rx7ben on September 16, 2008, 08:01:47 PM
Ive just ordered a Power Fc and when it arrives dave from roetecnics was going to mapp it. but i was wondering if anyone has had one mapped off dave. Because i allways thought you needed a rolling road to map and  dave hasnt got one.

they will road map it, i spoke to dave about this also. have you by any chance got a red fd with bodykit? if anything its better mapped on the road as you have real road conditions not just a massive fan lol

edit: ive just seen your cars thread, it is the red one! you flashed/waved me on bearwood road a couple weeks ago, i was in a white fd, whos engine has also since gone and is also in rotechniks/haywards hands

dunno mate most probably not, i only had the car for about 3 weeks until the engine went pop and probably went down 2-3 times in that time. did you buy your car from rotechniks then?

No i brought from a nob head in manchester and i live in reading. Went all the way up there with a trailer it was ****ing down with snow and swapped the rex for a 55 plate fiesta ST.

It was ment to be a Knightsports prepered, RX7 Knightsports spek turbo"s the works. Got it home took it up the road and it blew up. Flames were pooring out the exhaust i thought the thing was going to set on fire.

So after a £5500 rebuild turned out the only things Knightsports were the intercooler, ECU and the bodykit.

So as u can imagian i wasnt happy....

no way?! lol i came from an 05 plate fez ST, did you ever see the white one with full stripes and team RS stickers on it around wokingham/winnersh area? that was mine! thats **** that they obviously lied thru their teeth to you, quite a difference from the ST to a rex though isnt it!!

I had almost as bad luck as you, bought the car with warranty only for the engine to die after 4 weeks and the garage to go into liquidation in the meantime! so bought myself a mazda 323 for the time being just so i can get to work etc. were you ever on fiestastoc? dont tell me you are they guy who had the red ST with black wheels? if so we\'ve sort of met before!

its white mate. you were benst on the forum yeah? i remember i saw u at BP before when i still had my blue ST and thought "those black wheels with black stripes look sick" and got black wheels on my white one ( blue one was written off :( ) also i remember i raced u up reading road in the blue one and u were easily pulling away i was like wtf is this, thats never standard!! i was STMan on fezstoc, onto TTMan here lol. Once I get my car back we will have 2 meet up, i know theres at least 1 other person on here from Reading who would be up for it. not many rx7s round here. surprised i havent seen you more often as i live in shinfield which is what, 5 mins max from you?!

Yep i was Benst, i remember the Reading road race, what a small world it is. what a totally different car the the Rex is compared to the ST. I spent so much money trying to make that car fast, seems stupid now.

Defo have to show me your bad boy when you get it back.

Are you have much work done to it.

yea thats mad that we both had an st, both got a rex and both ended up on here! i know what u mean about spending money on them as well, i was modding the blue one from standard probably spent about £1000 on it and then 1 day some silly moo just ploughs into the side of it and writes it off, made me think whats the point. then i bought a fully modded white one, which then had bits nicked off it so i got rid asap. now got this beast :)

its already got full exhaust system (running on stock ECU from previous owner probably contributed to engine going bang) tein coilovers and non standard alloys, ive got a PFC and twin apexi induction kit for it to be put on when its rebuilt, also got 99 spec lights for it - just need a 99 spec bumper now! its a 96 model so already has the better (imho) rear lights, also ecu is 16bit which i think is why it was harder to source my PFC as theres a lot less about.

Sounds nice, i prefer the 99 rear lights aswell need to find some of them for mine. I have tein coilovers aswell i thought thay were so bumpy at first but ive got use to it now. Just dont adjust the stifness like i tryed because thay go from hard to flinstone style :Giggle.

Cool, more Reading peeps :Thumbs-up

I\'m just west of the centre of Reading if anyone wants to meet up at some point. One of Carl\'s mechanics (Geoff) is in the Reading area too with an FD.

I don\'t often manage to make the Reading Jap meets because of work, but I\'ll see if I can get to the next one if anyone can tell me when it is!

Cheers,

Chris.
