Title: Going single.
Post by: davyv on September 15, 2008, 08:27:23 PM
After much thought on the matter I have decided to go single. I have all the mods to run any single so my turbo of choice is either the A Spec 500r which delivered is about £2400 or the TO4Z  from HP In a Box at about £ 2700.
The A Spec comes as a kit only and looks very good, but the TO4Z you can make one up yourself and save quite a lot of cash.
What I would like to know is who are the best stores for a down pipe and a good manifold, the turbo I can get no problem for about £850 delivered but with no duty on, with luck I wont get caught. Thanks.

Street port on a new engine. Why does the HKS TO4Z turbo cost twice as much as the Garrett.

I think the TO4Z is a bigger turbo than the A-spec 500r. Plus the 500r is a hybrid that A-spec assemble themselves from Garret parts.

How large a streetport has the engine got ?

if you look on e bay you can get the precision range of turbos  such as the pt67 etc which are pretty much the same as garret and hks ones but dont seem as highly priced. they are not knock off from china and are well tested on the scene over here.
i toyed with the idea of getting a pt turbo but i wanted a bb turbo so sided against. i think rc developements and the likes favour there turbos but i could be wrong
