Title: Starting a TII
Post by: rupertbear on September 13, 2008, 06:21:53 PM
I used to start my old TII cab simply by turning the key. Didn\'t do anything with the throttle at all and it always started straight away.

I\'ve been viewing a potential replacement today and the owner told me to follow this process to start it:

Press accelerator pedal to the floor.
Turn over with key.
Whilst still turning, release pedal and return it to the floor.
Engine starts.

It certainly didn\'t seem to want to start just with the key, as my old one did.

Comments?

The S5 (not sure for the S4) cuts fuel if you hold the throttle down whilst turning the key. Think its some sort of anti flooding thing. Could be it has a leaky injector and this just de floods it so it will start easier. I\'m sure someone will have more info on it than I have.

Yeah my cold start just stopped working one day. Strange little gremlins I think!

Thanks for the observations. It didn\'t seem to have cold start, I\'d forgotten about that! Maybe been disabled.

I\'m buying it anyway, if there\'s anything wrong I\'ll soon be back for more advice!
