Clive has some good kits.

I brought a cheap kit on fleabay - and ended up buying better HID\'s and ballasts - in the long run it\'s not cost effective to go too cheap.

For the FC you need an H4 kit - and for MOT compliant beam patterns your best of getting a telescopic (motorised) bulb H4-3 style - it\'s a single bulb, and either the bulb or reflector is moved to produce the Hi/Lo beam.  The kits with seperate bulbs don\'t produce the correct beam pattern with the stock lenses, so it won\'t pass MOT - and you\'ll be blinding other drivers.

You can get a dual lens conversion - and then you can use projector style lenses - with seperate bulbs - those would use H1/H3 bulbs.

The issue with the cheeper bulbs is that the retracting motor doesn\'t fit behind the popups, so its best to spend a bit more and go for the slightly more expensive ones that definatly fit, rather than wasting money on ones that don\'t lol

Hi James,

Have a read of this (long) thread as it should answer all your questions,

Hope this helps,

p.s. I remember being real worried driving in the dark and heavy rain going to Le Mann\'s many years ago in my Gen 2 not being able to see a damn thing, Gen 3\'s arn\'t much better !

^^+1

a new windscreen could also help, if you have an old one, they usually get lots of tiny stone chips that scatter the light making it harder to drive

you might want to check what kind of headlight housing you have on ur fc as import ones do not have replaceable bulbs as the bulbs are built-in to the housing.
if thats the case then you\'d need to get new housing to fit the HID\'s.

any updates on ur fc?
still like the gt wing on ur fc.. tempted to follow lol but also like the stock TII wing.

Quote from: Frost;534436I would be up for a group buy.

Been wanting HID\'s for a looong time.

I remember years ago melting the wiring on my EGI with mental 100w bulbs in my quest to see where I was going at night,

Foutunatly this kit will not heat up your wiring and you will be able to see 300% better that fitting 100w bulbs

I got the 6000K kit on my daily runner, was only £50 delivered :)

Kit came with:

2X Ballasts
2X Bulbs
Wires
User friendly instruction manual
Cable ties
2X Fitting harness

It\'s been on the car for almost 2 years now, works a treat :)
