Title: Bashed my car a bit.
Post by: Ada7 on September 06, 2008, 08:42:44 PM
Went out in my car last night even though the weather was terrible as i hadn\'t driven it for a while and wanted to show some of the guys i was meeting up with.
Anyway on the way out of the car park i miss judged where the drop kerb was as it was really dark and raining hard and the front nearside wheel fell off the path and smashed the front of the nearside side skirt :(

Really annoyed with myself. Not really been able to look at it properly as been working today and was dark when i got home.
Not sure what i can do about it. Its a genuine veilside skirt. Can they be easily fixed seeing as they are plastic (FRP is it?) and what feels like foam under that?

I know the feeling mate, the same areas on my sides are pretty knackered from similar "mis-calculations".

If it\'s simple FRP then it will be fixable, I\'ve done similar to my C-West bumper after a somewhat embarassing incident in Paris and was quite impressed with how it turned out (especially as it was my first time playing with fibreglass).

I can recommend a bloke in Reading who\'s a wizard with Fibreglass. His name\'s Gary and here\'s his website: http://www.japsalon.com/

I reckon that should fix up no problem with some of the old premix fibreglass, mine had very similar damage in a few places and they came good :D Also fairly easy to do in a learn as you go sort of way lol

Hey accidents happen i know that. Believe me i was so gutted when it happened! It will be fixed or replaced at soom point. The picture actually makes it look a lot worse than it is as its mainly on the underside. Not the end of the world. And it is getting looked after!

Ha ha thanks mate for your contructive comments ;)
Do like the FEED ones but not sure they\'d look good with the front bumper. We\'ll see.

Thread revival...

Well it took me a while to get around to getting this all fixed up but fix it now is :D I had cracked my front bumper on a kerb so thought whilst i was getting that fixed i\'d get this sorted out at last.
It really wasn\'t that noticable unless you got down low to look at the skirt but i always knew it was there. So I booked it in with Mark (Ninja) and he did his magic on not only the skirt but also the front bumper. And i think it looks great now, and he even sorted out the lens covers so they as secure again and wont fly off :D Cheer Ninja dude :guinness :Thumbs-up

Only problem now is the new paint looks so good that it shows up the rest of the cars 12 year old paint. Time to start saving for a respray me thinks :2Rolleyes
