Hey Everyone, I\'m Ryan, first car was a \'76 808, yellow. Currently drive a \'97 RS FD. Its Red, would\'ve liked black but after test driving it I just couldn\'t give it back... It\'s got Ohlins adjustables, oversize swaybars, a mongrel clutch, and some other minor stuff. Runs nicely on bridgestone adrenalin tyres. anyway hope your world\'s buzzin\' and safe driving people :)

Welcome to Mazdarotaryclub.com Ryan, now you have found us don\'t be a stranger as your now welcome to visit anytime :)
Hi Ryan
My daughters out there and loving every minute.
Hamilton, i have a few friends out there with CTC getting their pilot licenses. Lovely place they say!
You should post some pics of the FD. :)
Wotcher, welcome an all that. ^^^ yeah, pics, please! What\'s a "mongrel clutch", excuse my ignorance?

This is my girl, clean for a change. To be honest, I spend a lot more time driving it than washing it :)
And to clarify, the "mongrel clutch" is just some heavy duty item, feels like a ceramic or something similar, but she\'s either on or off. Haven\'t had the need to pull it apart and find out exactly what it is, but it sure does a mean job :)
Aha! Car looks nice and tidy, dude, love the number plate!
Hi & welcome to the MRC :)
Yeah, the number plate was originally destined for a Honda I used to own, but is quite well suited to the 7. :)
Kia Ora Ryan, I\'ll keep a look out for your FD. :driving
Hey, yeah mate, if you ever see me rolling around flag me down. With all the FD\'s in the \'tron :) you\'d think we\'d have a local club... Been kinda keen to initiate some kind of FD club, but not so keen on attracting the undesireables. Keener for, perhaps "more mature" members who aren\'t going to cause trouble. You can always email me at ryan_patterson@hotmail.com (ryan_patterson@hotmail.com) too. Chur bro :) Lol.
With a plate like that you shouldnt be too hard to find. :)
Spotted 1pm today! I said you shoudn\'t be too hard to find! LOL
I couldnt flag you down cause you were going around the other side of the round-about outside placemakers Te Kowhai in Te Rapa.
Yea true too many batty\'s in the tron ay
hahaha, wicked :)
It\'s hard to hide wearing those plates.
I work at Jim Wright\'s, so yeah can usually be seen around the Te Rapa end of town.
Who are you, just curiously? You\'ve had a lot of Mazdas I see...
My name is Sean and I and work over in Te Rapa down the boulevard off Te kowhai. I am a rotarynut from back in the day. My first car was a 74 RX-4 coupe I bought back in 83 when I was 15. My blue R100 coupe was a regular at meremere drag strip back in early 90\'s taking out runner up open street class at the national finals in 94. I\'ve had about a dozen rotary\'s since then but never had a batty. Are you bringing your batty to summerdrags?

Hey Sean,
Ah, you would have seen me picking up a freind from lunch, she works down your ways as well.
Not really fully into the whole "scene"... Might go to the summerdrags for a look, but the old girl would need a bit of a birthday before being subjected to the strip I think. I\'m not really one for the typical rotary passtimes, I prefer getting out on the road and doing some driving, had it 3 years and nearly clocked up 50\'000 kms so far, and it\'s never missed a beat :)
Hi Ryan, yea summerdrags is worth a look at least, heaps better than the rotary nationals I reckon. You dont have to drag your FD just park it up with all the other rotaries there. I personally havent been involved in racing rotaries for some 15 odd years now I\'m purely into non modified old school rotaries nowadays. I\'m going to summerdrags so I can take pics and video and share them with enthusiasts from around the world. Here some pics from last summerdrags.

Whats a typical rotary passtime?
Mate, that\'s an awesome collection of photo\'s. Last time I was at the \'nats (I know summerdrags isn\'t the nats, but that was pretty much the last time I was around that kind of thing) it was still held on Labour weekend.
I don\'t mean to offend anyone, but I\'ve seen a lot of rotor\'s around that are just obnoxious boy racer cars. Illegal drags, or even the legal night wars, racing, cruising, skids, showing off etc passtimes just don\'t appeal to me anymore. My idea of fun is jetting down to New Plymouth for the night, coming back at 2am, open roads = big smile. Best trip to date was Wellington to Hamilton early one morning. I never bought the 7 for others to admire, not fussed what anyone thinks of it. I bought it for me to drive, and I just love driving it...
But it looks like the summerdrags could have some pretty neat machinery there, well worth a look by the look of the photos. Cheers for bringing it to my attention. :)
Hey guys definitely put up some photo\'s of the summer drags if either of you go. Its tempting to fly back to nz just for the drags and nats, next year perhaps.:Thumbs-up
