would like to know peoples set ups when running the stock twins etc
Fastest Stock twins uk record was set by sdminus, he ran stock twins sequentially at 12 second dead on the quarter mile, a lot of singles cant match this. He ran on stock ports, he had uprated fuelling mods,Apexi PFC, he ran the Aquamist HFS5 kit and tuned it on 50:50 methonal.
He had approx over 380 at the wheels
what about the cooling setup and induction kit?
He had a Front mounted intercooler and uprated rad, I think he had the blitz kit but cant be sure on that
Plus he had done huge mods and testing on getting good launches on the strip. He has a great deal of knowledge on the water injection side of his setup.
Very nice guy that I used to chat to a lot about getting quicker on the stock twins.

No it was a trust/Greddy fmic, an aftermarket rad plus Apexi style induction. But he did mount the radiator slightly over to the left and also the FMIC and put some custom ducting to the induction kit.
His car was insane !! He took me out on a number of occasions and I was just blown away by how it performed. Plus he got my respect because a lot of what he did was self taught.
Helped me out a number of times with my car, he does lurk here sometimes (cant remember the id now) but is more into Go Karting which he is doing pretty well at.

Anyone else got some repectable power on twins? Also what boost was the fella running? I guess it must have been pretty high, esp. w/water inj.
Also I was wondering, does running the twin sequentially or non-sequentially have any outcome to the final power? I imagined that running both turbos up top would yeald far higher power figures, but I personally prefer that low down kick...
Ben, Scott ran them sequentially at just over a BAR , also Warthog ran them seqentially and he attained 389 rwhp

Warthog was running his at 1.2bar boost, went through a couple of twin turbo packs i think. That is really pushing it thou you wont get anymore then that and expect to replace them a few times aswell.
Most run a Front Mount intercooler.

yes correct it does not raise top end power, non seq effectivly chops the bottom end of the power band, people who go non seq say its more driveable as they dont like the 4500 transition others like seq as its quicker around town and more tractable

What sort of power did you manage to get mate? thats the sort of set-up im going to be running eventually but instead of a FMIC im going to use an ARC SMIC.
I honestly dont know mate, never had it on the rolling road. Had a race with a mate who has a 420bhp @ flywheel Impreza and was near enough equal

It was pretty good really. The only parts that let me down were the transmission and a few boost solinoids etc. The car was built around a spec i put together and stuck to. In the end i started to get into bigger projects on it and i lost my inital idea and interest.
I was only running 1.0bar of boost when i ran the 12.0 and also had a TPS fault. When i changed to 4th gear the tps would only give 85% in the final run.

Not too burst your Kiwi bubbles (:rollin) but the Americans have run high 10 second quarters on stock ports and twins abit everything else was modified and running drag tyres and suspension setup.

yes mate, it was running that small intercooler and standard plugs, n radiator, it basically cooked its self to much, plug there fans were ****e. :2Confused Ive had a big front mount and alloy rad rad to keep the intake n engine temp down. the intercoolers made a masive difference. plus on the mod nats the clip on the pipe between the intercooler and the intake was nakered it was only boosting to .8 peak and dropping to around .77 so loooooooooost a bitta boost / power there. Doing a track day with the lads at the end of the month if you fancy a road trip. £130 for the day an were all camping that night.
Yeah i race Rotax on a gillard charlotte. Lots of fun but also takes up lots of time.
You dont need fancy port jobs. My time was set with road legal tires on stock wheels running 1.0 bar of boost. pump fuel with 50:50 AI. The car had various other parts but was a bone stock motor built by jimmys rx7 in norwich. It had a stock trany with a 1.5 kaaz diff.
I just used a bit a knowledge to get the power down.

Great thread, really interesting as some very nice power figures for relatively little investment, well not forking out to go single anyway. Has anyone much experience running uprated sequential twins?
I\'m havnt had the chance to get to kim this year. Raced a bit last year at kim. Was ment to be at beccles when the dadson challenged visited, but I blew up my max and was waiting for the warranty to come through.
