All,
I am putting a holding deposit on this motor, Anyone know of any reason why I shouldnt buy this slightly modified non sequential twin as my first venture into the world of the mighty rotoray ??
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1992-MAZDA-RX7-BLACK_W0QQitemZ220272882105QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220272882105&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A7%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Confirmed rebuild details with RX Motors, insurance around the £500 touch with all mods detailed and protected no claims. All receipts and invoice present for work done, about 1500 miles on a rebuild just about time to be remapped.
Any advice or thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
PS. Would appreciate no sneaky gets popping down and buying it tonight !!!!
Cheers all
DBoy
Looks good matey,
A lot for your money there.
Any new car is a risk, get someone who knows rotarys to go with and do a few checks for you.
If the rebuild is still under warantee that is a HUGE bonus..
(Apparently) genuine reason for sale, the only downside for me is that you wont be able to test it on full boost/max revs as usually rebuilt engines have a 2000mile running in period.

Thats what i thought, The lad who owns it has already gone to oz, have been dealing with his old man who has been taking out now and again to keep battery charged etc.
The way i see it, is by the time i drive her home to edinburgh off boost, that should be enough to have her run in, then get her in garage for a few of the minor changes i want to make then a nice off boost bootle down to pips followed by a good run home !!!
Sounds like a good plan, there are also quite a few guys off here around essex way, who I\'m sure would look the car over for you if you covered their time.

Is there anyone who lives near to Braintree, who might be good enough to offer there services to give the car a once over for me some time of the next few weeks ??
Cheers

If you want a single in the future just buy one now as cheaper than doing the conversion yourself bud :cheers

I would normally agree with you fella, but i have a master plan for that one, all will become clear :spank:spank
If you do buy it fella id check with RX Motors if they have to do the post run-in mapping etc to maintain the warrenty. Just incase a trip to Pips invalidates it?
Also when mine was rebuilt (not at RX tho) it was only a 1000 mile run-in off bosst, so you may be able to travel a bit faster :)
Chris
p.s. good luck with it!

Cheers For the advice, think i will make a call to RX motors this morning and sort that one out.
Looks good, but can anyone else see that the front bumper is a different colour to the rest of the car?

noticed it, bt not worried about that as it willbe getting a respray anyway, not mentioning it to the seller until i get down there, got to be worth a few quid off that one !!
is that not just a carbon bumper?

Not sure to be honets, it does say in the description that its a carbon creation bodykit, so maybe. Like i say though not overly concerned about that. Will check it out when i go down though.
Any MRC rotary experts in the area ??
