Title: Anyone interested in a South Coast meet?
Post by: Hi RX7 on September 01, 2008, 04:39:50 PM
The local Hampshire Jap Car club meet up a Portsdown Hill now and then and its a good decent sized car park with a great view. There\'s a really good burger van on site and it is used as a gathering point for loads of bikers/car enthusiasts. The surrounding roads are quite good and its easy to get at.
Not sure if this is of interest to anyone or even allowed by the moderators

There does not seem to be any set date but that doesn\'t stop the organising of a meet.
This Saturday a few guys from the Lotus Club are at Goodwood and I thought if anyone was about it might be a good idea to meet up there and chew over a few ideas of a meet for once a month whatever suits everyone. I am going to try to get to Goodwood in the afternoon so if anyone from around the South Coast is about why not meet there for a start.

the latter...... (and the former if you are that way inclined!) i could be wrong there are a couple of car parks up there, but apparently one is frequented by swingers. the burger van is pretty good though. have been known to stop there whlst cycle training.

Not sure, lived around here best part of my life but I\'m unaware of that. Thinking about it could take the wife up there and see if anyone wants to swop, oh forgot she won\'t go in my car damn.

What day would suit there is a pub within staggering distance if anyone wants. would a weekend afternoon be better or an evening. I belong to the Lotus anoraks and we meet the first Monday of the month so that sort of arrangement may suit people. If we met on an afternoon there are a good few interesting roads in the area that could be \'toured\' then return to the hill. As I said some friends from the Lotus club are having a track day at Goodwood this Saturday so if anyone is around lets meet up there in the afternoon it\'s free to get in so I\'m up for it.

DJCC\'s regular monthly meets will be starting up again shortly. Always get a good mixed bag of cars in attendance. I\'ll post up when the first one is sorted. :)

Its called Sushi Sunday not sure how big it is though, its what they call the breakfast club. Its on Sunday 2nd November you need to get there really early so my fellow Lotus guys tell me because it gets really busy.

Thats the one, Its the first time they\'ve done a Jap meet ever. I\'ve been to a few this year to look, they have a different \'theme\' each month, eg German make cars, Super car day, pre war, and so on, normally the fist Sunday of each month. To park up on the start line I guess you would need to be there about 7:30 ish?. Other meets have been very busy and tail off about 11ish. have a look on Piston heads \'Goodwood\' section and delve back abit for pics and youll get the idea. It is a completely static event park up and wander only, and buy \'Breakfast\' wich is the whole idea?:Giggle

Hi Tim and welcome, I was hoping to meet up with some of the people from the Hampshire Jap Owners club as sort of a combination of the two owners groups hence my placing this posting, but each time I have set off to a meet which they have organised my good old RX7 has broken down on two occasions and so far I have failed to get to any meets. There are a few RX7 owners around this way so if you check on the HJC website you\'ll find any details of the meets and hopefully the next one I\'ll make if the car goes tits up again on the way to the next one I will know that a greater power somewhere in the universe does not want me there.
