I have a bolt that\'s sheared in the front wing (One of the bolts that holds the wing on). So suspect it may have corroded on. Don\'t know by how much. What is the best method to remove it, preferably without having to drill and re-tap the hole. Would prefer to do that as a last resort.

Depends how well rusted it is in really and if the threads are there or been corroded away... You could try welding a nut on the end of it and then getting it out which is what i normally do or drill it use an extractor although the welding option is usually the best. Rememeber to soak it in wd or plusgas first :D
Other than that it\'s drill and re-tap i\'m afraid.
use a stud remover
Hi Nik,
I would say drill and tap as I personaly stopped using easy-outs years ago because if that then breaks you won\'t drill it unless you heat it with a welding gun to take the guts out of the metal,
Havent had an easy-out in my toolbox for years due to the above.
must type faster :rollin:rollin

Lol, and yeah trying to drill out a snapped extractor just dont work, many hours of fun i\'ve had with this :D
ok, i\'ll drill and re-tap :(
Boo, hiss!
If you\'ve got enough thread onit, just locking two nuts together on it and using a bit of heat before turning them might work, if you\'ve not got a handy welder?
I have absolutely no thread on it whatsover unfortunately.
Another hater of easy-outs :(
If you know someone with a welder, get them to weld something to the top of it. The heat from the welder helps free up the thread, and then you can turn it out with whatever you have welded onto it :)
If it\'s really stubborn, do the above, heat it til it\'s glowing, and then spray some pipe freeze spray on it.
Warning: Don\'t do this unless you have a slightly idiotic side, it can be quite spectacularly dangerous :D
Spark erosion! No idea how it works, but I\'ve always wondered, so if anyone knows :).....

Don\'t think i fancy getting a welding torch near my nice shiney paintwork! Drilling and tapping it\'s gonna be.

So you\'ve started a thread to tell us you don\'t have no thread...??
See the irony on what I did there? :rollin :rollin - i\'ll get me coat....
btw - anyone get any ideas how to remove the boot struts if the nut attaching it to the tail is rounded off???
