As some of you probably know i only picked up my rx7 yesterday, but after being messed about by timewasters on ebay i thought i\'d sold my Skyline. Well, today the head gasket went, so i cant sell it :( Now i\'m stuck with 2 cars, both of which need a little work and unfortunately i\'m going to have to just keep the skyline, which means having to sell my rx7.
I was wondering where the best place to advertise it would be? I dont know if what i paid was about right, but i need it gone and if i make a loss its my problem. What do you think this is worth?

Total bummer, You we\'re really looking forward to this FC from the posts I\'ve read.
It\'ll be worth a lot more with an MOT. Can you afford to get it put through? Has the Skyline done damage to the block or head? If not it\'s not so bad just bung another head gasket on it.
Oh and if you keep the FC the head gasket will never go guaranteed!
Yeah, i LOVE that FC. I\'ve driven it about 2 miles, and already i love it! Its so smooth and effortless. If i mot it, theres no way i\'ll bring myself to sell it....
No idea what has happened to skyline, but i wasnt having any luck selling it despite not asking much! OK, it an NA and a auto, but a t&t\'d R32 for less than a grand seemed a bargain to me!!
Do you have the facilities to fix the Skyline yourself? Other wise your gonna be putting money into a car that you don\'t really want. Plus if its not worth a lot then your never gonna see any of that money back.
The other option is to advertise it as a project car or a fixer uper
Yeah, fixing it myself is no problem at all. But after doing that work do i keep it or keep the rx? I need to decide and sell one quick as after purchasing the rx i kind of needed the sale of the skyline to manage this month!!!! Which do i keep??!!
What skyline is it? And what will you use it for?

lol, yup, R32 gts NA jobbie. I do like the fc. needs a sill but otherwise well looked after. Its on 80k and has full mazda hstory up to 60k!
Cheers boys, you inspired me into remembering my mate told me to tell him when i sold it... If its just a head gasket, i may well have sold the liner. Ooh yeah, rotary time. Time to take the pi$$ out of my piston engine driving mates!!
Just remember to frequently check the oil and coolant, and for piece of mind get it compression tested and checked over by a rotary specialist before you start hammering it everywhere. Enjoy
i was planning on giving it a compression test tomorrow actually, i\'ll have a bit of time to do some work on it tomorrow :)
Good man James. You might be skint for a couple of months. Most of us are when we first buy the rex, but you\'ll soon forget about that when you get on the road and blow all those cobwebs away (and your mates!). Just look after it and it\'ll be ok.
With your Skyline put some additive in the water and flog it....quick. I have used k seal to excellent results bfore and although might fix cracks, leaks etc depending on severity of the head gaskets problems it might be a quick fix. Its not very expensive and Clive sells it. get the one where you dont have to empty the antifreeze.

Not bein funny, but an NA auto R32 can\'t be going to make you rich anyway, can it? Just break it if you can\'t fix it, it\'s probably worth as much in parts, surely? No contest between a TurboII and a Skybus, keep the REX!

I wont sell a car if i\'ve bodged a repair to be honest, i\'ve had it done to me and its not nice! Got skyline sorted today, appears to be just head gasket, i\'ll see how it drives....
No, the skyline wont make me rich, but selling it will seriously help towards the parts for the few little rx7 jobs i need to do!

i had to keep it. made the mistake of driving it a few more miles today :) Was lovely, till the alternator belt fell apart. Also, looking underneath it could use a new sill, could do it without one, but i\'m a bit of a perfectionist and i\'d rather buy one to fit. Any ideas?

dont think you can buy off the shelf, better off getting it professionally patched, they can do a good job so that it does not show. If you have signs of rust there then please check all the other places as well as i bet there will be something lurking in the shadows.
Cant remember the part number but Halfords stock a belt that is good in size for you alternator, just take yours in and measure it up against a new one.

that sounds about right. not u mention i remember he said sht about head gasket.
he ended up keepin the fc.. nt sure what happened to the skyline.
