i never see over 750 on mine and thats a full boost doing track time. 800 is ok but if you see 900 start backing off

is that afr\'s on full boost?

Totally depends - where\'s your EGT probe?
Not much use really comparing two readings if the probes aren\'t in the same place :)

Thats way too close to the engine, iirc need to be quite far down the down pipe. 800 in the mani is probably on the cold/rich side.

Really? I was under the impression the closest to the combustion chamber the better?

pre turbo is ideal but you will see 200-300 degrees more, plus the probe wont  last too long lol

900ish is max, although this is in degrees F, pinapple racing do a cool dual EGT gauge so you can watch each rotor:

What about positioning it next to the stock lambda position?

I have mine in the down pipe about 7 inches from the turbo rear housing. As Mark said where you have it will destroy sensors, will last longer in the downpipe

What kind of temp would expect to get there?
And how you do put it there? I was going to get a thermocouple boss from RS components then drill and tap a hole in the manifold, would this work the same in the downpipe? Or would it need to be welded?
 Cheers

im hitting 750 degrees and that is with a Defi EGT drill and tapped ionto the top of the downpipe

In manifold you risk the probe breaking and making its way through the turbo
