Title: Not holding boost....
Post by: trevtubby on August 31, 2008, 12:33:15 AM
Heya,

Took the car out for a spin today and put her onto high boost for the first time in a while.

Noticed that the car isnt holding boost, its going up to .9 bar as it should, but then as I go up the revs its dropping to .6/.7 bar. Feels slow

Anybody got any ideas what it could be?

Check all the small vac lines that go to the actuators for the second turbo.... pre spool & the one by the Y pipe...... if these aren\'t working properly then your boost will drop off as he RPM increases, because the primary turbo runs out of steam at avout 5k which is whan the 2 turbos should be in full flow!

aah thats sounds like it could be the problem then.

i`ll have a dig about and see what I can find, am I looking for pipes that have completely come off, or pipes that have cracked or split?

eather or mate.... as a split pipe will be enough to stop the system from working!! also could be a blown solonoid under the UIM.....

Mass of possibilities, just a process of elimination!!
