Any pics from further away to see what they look like with the rest of the car?

Cheers guys will get some more pics from further away when it next comes out to play!
Not the cheapest things in the world but not to bad all things considered!
Next question will be on Re Amemiya rear diffussers with bowtech generators, how low can you go on suspension before you start breaking them?
(don`t want to lift the car up, but would love to have a rear diffusser fitted for next year.)

Why wouldn`t they be legal? best be as I have 16 holes in the front now!!

here are a couple more pics.

car looks really nice dude, i think he meant they might not be legal because they stick out quite a way but i dont think you will have any problems.

16 holes for each one or all together??

Post by: FEED Addict on August 28, 2008, 05:57:11 PM
thanks again, 16 holes in total holding them to the bumper and 16 to hold the canards together, they only stick out about 25mm at the wheel arch so hopefully that won`t cause me any bother. Also got this feed badge to fit by the side repeaters but i`m not to sure?

Post by: karl_tate on August 28, 2008, 06:02:47 PM
i would fit it on the back bumper

What instead of the superman badge? not a brilliant badge, plastic background and a clear rubber bubble covering it!

looks lovely...reminds me of my ill fated..well sorta ill fated car! It as pretty much opposite yours at RS....will almost be a nicer replica of mine if you fit the re-a diffuser...mine didnt scrap the ground on speed humps although i did leave a fair bit of ride height at the rear.
wrt to the feed badge on the wings...dont bother IMO. Mine had some tacky spirit r badges thre and the shape of them generally looked a bit grim on the wings

oh and btw i do beleive they are illegal (or at the bare minimum an MOT fail) to drive around on as they are a sharp edge protruuding from the car...could injusre a pedestrian supposedly

Cheers Jit, Those pesky pedestrians as if being hit by a car isn`t bad enough they are worrying about a little cut to go with it!:Hammer

Got these from RHD japan, with shipping and two disapointing Feed badges it came to £290 ish and then another £30 on import duty! (be warned though as they don`t come with any holes drilled for assembly or fitting).

They look sweet Gary! As if your car couldn\'t look any better.  I think the diffuser would definitely finish the car off nicely, but having seen how low your back end it, I can see your concerns about scrapage.

And I\'ll be mindful not to get too close to the car at the next MK meet, incase I suffer some nasty cuts at the hands of your canards :evillaugh

They\'re funky.

Much as I hate to admit it, I think Jit may be right. I think it\'s one of those things that\'s down to MOT testers discretion, about general condition of bodywork and having no sharp bits sticking out too far. I had one take exception to a Big Gay Wing I had on a previous car, even went to the lengths of getting his spirit level out to check it didn\'t stick out further than the rear fenders. It\'d have to be an especially maniacal nazi tester to fail you for something like that, but as we all know, they\'re out there!

Isn\'t canard French for "duck"? Funny name for \'em

I miss the feed ones when I had them on mine and with the side stregthening panel they look really good!! Really finish off the front end! Have you got an undertray, that\'ll make a big difference too.

My bro has the APR canards on his \'5 and we take them off prior to MOT just to be sure.  He hasnt had any problems with the boys in blue tho, and it is a daily driver.  I have however heard they can request you to remove them...sure youll be fine tho :)

As for a rear diffuser go for the RE A type 1 (street) diffuser as it defo doesnt catch on mine and its pretty close to the weeds.  Looks more subtle too!  Failing that there is the Sanai Works diffuser, but this may be even closer to the ground?

I think they look great! :Thumbs-up

I had a good look around your car at Rotorstock and it really is a nice example... I was very close to buying it when it went up on Neweras website, but I just spent too long making the descision

I think a rear diffuser will definitely finish the car off (I\'m planning the same myself), but I don\'t know what they\'re like for clearance. Hopefully it\'s not an issue.

Looking good Gary.  Thinking about a diffuser myself, this one looks quite mad, sideskirts not bad either.

Cheers for the ideas Rob but not to sure how they would sit with the wider rear arches, really want to go with something like on Initial D`s, got to be carbon though to match the rest!

Cheers Macer, I was also looking at your motor on Newera I tried to get the Misses to buy it, looks absolutly fantastic mate. Has it been delivered yet? ( I wouldn`t have been able to wait for it!)

so do they noticably improve the handling of the car? or are they purely asthetic? :D

Feed and others use the canards on their cars and from others they really do pull the front down as it\'s a pretty sharp angle.

Gary, I have the RE-A diffuser on mine and have never caught it on any speed bumps, Even if the front bumper catchs the diffuser never has!

Thanks Gary... That would\'ve been some collection if you\'d have snagged that one as well!! Good job I was a bit quicker off the mark this time :p

Yep, it\'s in the UK and pretty much ready to collect. I\'m off on holiday tomorrow though so it\'s gonna have to wait until I get back... For once I\'ll be looking forward to the return flight!! :yes
