Hi I\'m Will66. I drive an 04 Plate Sunlight Silver RX8 230. Currently it\'s mostly cosmetic modifications, stainless steel grills, gunmetal powdercoated alloys, Borla Catback, Blitz SUS Induction kit but it\'s getting a few more performance mods soon enough. I have a second set of rims with Toyo R888 trackday tires on for trackdays and the like. I\'ve already got uprated discs, pads and stainless steel brake lines on at the moment and a quickshift coming shortly. I\'m sizing up some Cusco Zero 2 Coilovers, a strut brace and the Cusco Econ control unit for some extra pace in the twisties in the next month or so. Longer term I am looking at a set of HKS Camp 2 gauges plumbed in to the satnav screen, an uprated clutch and a lightened flywheel, highflow Cat and Pettit Racing\'s Stage II Supercharger conversion. Hopefully after that it will have a bit more oomph and may just hang together okay too!
Happy Rotoring to one and all, may your tips last for a long time and may you never get detonation at the top end.
welcome to MRC fella :Thumbsup!
Welcome on board matey - sounds like a nice motor... sorry I mean rotor! #;o)
It\'s not too bad, nothing like as pacey as RX7s but the 8 has a lovely balance and surefooted handling that just begs for more power throughout the rev range. I keep looking at the price of RX7s at the moment and having impure thoughts about bridgeports and big turbos and flames out the back and stuff but I reckon it would be too much fun spending all my money on it to be realistic. Still, there\'s always next year or something.
Any pics matey? :)
Chris

Pics will follow this evening when I am not cheekily wheezing on the work internet!
It is an interesting location and I do do stuff with Boats, ships specifically. I\'m a Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy :flamed and I currently work within Fishery Protection, I therefore know lots of very dull stuff about fish. However I have done aircraft carriers and destroyers as well.
Pics up in Member\'s Rides. Link up here!

Love the way he nonchalantly mentions, as if in passing "oh yeah, I\'ve \'done\' aircraft carriers and destroyers as well". Sounds like fun. Apart from the fish bit, obviously. Does that mean you get to run off encroaching fishing boats from poaching national waters and stuff?
More relevantly, nice pics! Don\'t understand why more RX-8 owners don\'t move the number plate so it\'s not blocking the air intakes like you\'ve done there
The standard plate location isn\'t blocking the intake, that bit is solid plastic on the standard bumper. Below the plate is an intake that\'s normally blocked off by a blanking plate. I removed it when I fitted the grills, it might get a bit more air to the intake but I\'m not sure. The cooling air on an 8 goes in under where the stock plate sits, the lower grill actually protects the rad and the a/c condensors. I prefer the look of it off down to the left though, looks meaner.
Well, I\'ve learned something today, then. Why do Mazda design an intake and then blank it off in the first place? Bizarre! Definitely looks meaner
Not sure, it might be opened up for hotter climes than ours. It\'s probably a bit more show than go.
Hi Will66,
I am now on this Forum:Giggle
