Hey Guys,
As some of you may know, my engine blew on my FC.
Don\'t know what exactly went wrong, so the engine could actually be sound!! But all i know it doesn\'t \'fire\' up.
So after weeks of debate, i\'ve decided to get rid.
I\'ve got the money to fix it but the FC is too costly for me to run once the work has been done.
I would hate to break, i would rather sell it whole. Not because I\'m a lazy \'git\', just that the body is solid. It just doesn\'t have a working engine.
I don\'t know what to offer to sell as is or whether to break it.
Any offers?
thats not good matey :(
what happens when you try and fire it up ??
if you let us know the symptons - we might beable to help you out :D
Stu
Sounds like no compression.
It spins up so freely when trying to start it.
You smell plently of fuel but no spark.
And yes i have done a spark test.
Woah!
Just been catching up on everybodies motor\'s. (i\'ve been in hiding)
What\'s happening to everybodies FC?
Prof\'s FC, Adereed scared of starting his motor?
Have I started off a craze of blowing engines?
Weather? Does the weather effect the Rotary?
when you take out the plugs and crank it over - does it make the "whoosing" sounds ???
is the car a EGI or a turbo ??
if you take out the plugs and the EGI fuse and crank , does it throw a load of fuel out of the spark plug holes ??
can you get hold of a normal car compression tester ? if so - it might be worth giving that a try
if you have compression and it still wont start , try a new set of plugs in it
i had LOADS of probs when i first got the cab - so just wondering if you are getting the same probs
out of interest .. when is the car parked and and at what angle ??
when you put the key in the car and turn it on .. do you get all the idiot lights on the dash ?
Don\'t get rid buddy. Get yourself a second hand motor and drop it in. You\'ll miss the FC if you get rid. Like I\'ve said before If I can help out I will. Did you manage to sell your other car?
Have you taken the plugs out and inspected them?
If in doubt try a new set of plugs and a tow start :yes
I totally agree with spark plugs, I had endless problems with mine at the beginning and the last thing I replaced were the spark plugs. It does not matter if they have only done a few thousand miles, replace them and then go from there. Get rid of all the fuel in the chambers before replacing them though. Try some squirts of oil directly into the inlet manifold, I go through various vacuum ports. You really have to get it compression tested as you will be kicking yourself if its something silly. Any new bits can simply go on your next Rex if this one is goosed and you are dead set on selling, likewise the forum members will always be on hand to take spares off you but its wise to find the reason first so you dont sell on duff parts.
I\'ll give it a shot!
Good man. If not think about making this guy an offer and swap the engine.

Well my car is ok lol and as can be seen from profs thread, its not too difficult to change the engine, hes on his 5th engine lol
Did u get it running then ??
Not yet. He\'s thinking of an engine swap, but has had to buy something else (scooby, flame here!) to run around in in the mean time.
So you still selling it or have u got it running ??
