quick question, after having my c west front bumper fitted and now being all nice and painted, i then looked at the front and realised that the tow loops are no longer worth having!
i have been looking replacing with the track type ones from driftworks (http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products/universal-heavy-duty-tow-hook.html) but i have a inkling that due to the fact its a people dicer sticking from the front of your car it may not be road legal! :Giggle
i was thinking of trying to get it coming out of the smaller of the 2 holes to the side (between the oil cooler and intercooler on the drivers side)
what have you guys done to get round this? i even had the thought of cutting my bonnet and having a shock tower one!! DANGER!! haha
any pics that would help too cheers lads and lasses
For the road, if you want something neat, you cold get some of that webbing/strap that is used for strapping down loads on lorries, then have it sandwiched between 2 stainless steel square blanks, bolt to frame and you have a road/track day towing eye, that when on the road, you tuck neatly away behind nose, and can be made to any length you want.
spot on idea that cheers but i am after somthing a bit more permanent i reckon, plus the fact if it were to be used i could run into the danger of damaging my bumper when going around corners etc,
get a bolt-on jobby. Fit a mounting plate behind a gap in the bumper, but only bolt the towing-eye on when you get to the track. Should only take a min to bolt on, and means you don\'t have the \'people dicer\' stuck out front :)
