Hey guys,
First of all i would like to introduce myself.. My name is Gianni and i am from Scotland. About 2 weeks ago a nice RX7 FC 2 came up on eBay and i decided to buy it.. Ever since i layed my eyes on the FD ive always wanted one.. although its the FD i wanted the FC was more in my price/insurance range.. I don\'t have any pictures of the car yet as she still needs a good clean inside and out.. If im being totally honest i mainly bought this car off the back of my favourite anime series Initial D.. (and above reasons). I have no knowledge of the rotary engine at all so i am hoping that you guys can help me out a bit.. the car seems to be in great working order and has done 80k.. which i think is not bad for a 21 year old car.. it has a new exhaust system fitted also.. The only mods i want to do are as follow.. Colour code the back and side bumper things, power coat the wheels white, tint the windows and add a new spoiler and bonnet.. below is a pic of the bonnet & spoiler i would like.. i\'m just not sure if i need a new bonnet though or someone could supply me with just the air scoop thing.. I am also looking for some new rear light covers as one of them has been cracked.. Any help would be really appreciated.. hopefully i have not broken any rules or anything with my post and i look forward to becoming a regular on here!

Hi and welcome to the club. There is a lot of information on this forum and the people here are pretty good at helping you out when you need info. I also joined the club in your situation and have found it the best source of info/knowledge on the web.
I presume from your post that you have an EGI (non turbo) FC3s as the car in the pic is a TII FC3s. The bonnet is a standard item on the TII and it should not be too hard to find. I think the best thing I can recommend is that you do as much reading up on here/web about the general running and workings of the rotary engine. It has helped me a lot over the last couple of years and I am still a novice with these things! Take good care of it and most of all enjoy it. These cars are a lot of fun.
Hey dude,
Thanks for the welcome! :) below are some pictures from the actual auction i bought her from.. It is a non turbo i know that much.. if you could tell me where i could find the parts to fit this it would be great!.. Had a bit of a run in with some guy on eBay today.. he was breaking up an FC and i asked for a price and pics of the spoiler.. he didn\'t want to send me pictures until he had £35 in his bank account though.. so i quickly told him i wasn\'t interested then he started slagging me off.. Anyways, here are some pics of my actual car ripped from the eBay auction.

Wow looks like you\'ve got a clean one. If its that good underneath then its a keeper. Make sure you get it wax oiled underneath before winter so it doesn\'t rot away with the salt from the roads. I have a stock TII rear spoiler for sale and maybe even a bonnet. Both in red though so would need a respray.
Thanks man.. Yeah she is very clean.. and ive not even had a valet on it yet! haha.. I would have no trouble having the parts painted.. its just wither you would be able to get them up to me via courier or not.. but if the price was right then i would certainly be interested! As long as i don\'t have to pay you £35 before you take any pictures! hehe.. The next night i get free and its nice outside (is it ever in Scotland? haha..) then i will give her a right good clean.. The insurance i have only covers it for 1500 miles.. I also have a Honda Civic so luckly i can afford to only run the RX7 when its a nice day.. so hopefully she wont come into contact with any road salts or water.. the engine bay actually looks alot cleaner than it does in those pictures.. the whole car is clean.. just abit dated on the inside.. but i will see how it comes up after a valet.. i was considering some new bucket seats.. but its not something im 100% on yet.. I really appreciate your help so far dude. Alot of forums are quite scary to say the least but everyone seems pretty down to earth and nice on here.. I look forward to my stay. :)
Welcome :)
hey hey,
welcome. i like the lower 1/2 bumper in the 1st pic!
benlewismay i think had a white turbo hood (with scoop) if i remember correctly, else he got a black one. have a chat with him. he helped me lots!
as for rear spolier.. ptaylor18 (i think that was his screen name off hand) has one similar which is very nice. search through his posts. i cant remember where it was
though personally i quite like the stock turbo II spoiler.
QuoteAlot of forums are quite scary to say the least but everyone seems pretty down to earth and nice on here.. I look forward to my stay.
It\'s funny a lot of people new to the club say that. It\'s something the founders of the club and the mods should be proud of. You\'ll find that there is no such thing as a stupid question (or at least I have found that!) and you\'ll get an answer to most things even if its in the form of a link to another site or something.
If you do put a TII bonnet on your car be aware that the engine bay probably won\'t stay clean like it is now, as you\'ll pick up all sorts of crap from driving around. Plus without having an intercooler anything that goes through the scoop will end up ontop of your engine/bulkhead. Unless of course you blank it off with something.
I\'ll have a look at the bonnet on my other car and make sure it has no dings in it. The rear spoiler has a little damage to the passenger side but is a dead easy fix to be honest.
Welcome to MRC :Thumbs-up
Morning all! Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.. :) The only forums i have used in the past are Gaming/Arcade forums and trust me.. there are alot of crap people using the internet.. i feel the whole n00b phase is hopefully passing by though..
The spoiler on it is actually quite nice.. I\'ve thought about maybe just getting it done white.. but when i see some of the awesome spoilers on this site i often change my mind and want a new one.. unfortunately i change my mind more than the Scottish weather changes.. I will wait and see what Ade has to offer as he was the first to mention he might have some stuff for sale. I am also looking for some new rear light covers as my back left one is cracked.. It has been filled in with some kind of red putty or something which looks fine from afar but bad up close.. :(
BBCFC - I don\'t quite understand what you mean by the lower 1/2 on the first pic?.. Is it not a standard front that is on it?
The car had some nasty stickers on the front and sides which you can barely make out from those pictures (thankfully).. they have now been removed.. Just needs a good clean!
Ade - If you have any pictures that would be great. In the meantime i will hunt for benlewismay and ptaylor18 and save their profiles in my favourites so if nothing comes of your stuff then i can try them.
again i really appreciate everyones help. You are a great bunch of guys! :)
Gianni
Here is a couple of pic\'s of the spoiler and the damage to it. And a pic of what it looks like on the car.
Thanks for that dude. The only thing im thinking is that as its higher up than my spoiler you will then see the screw holes at the back.. I think i am probably best just getting my original spoiler painted white.. saves me money and i know it will obviously fit my car no problem. BUT i am certainly interested in the bonnet. It\'s the main thing i am really after.. that vent at the front just makes it for me.. Although i will probably just cover up the hole into the engine to save problems.. :) So it\'s mainly the rear lights and bonnet i am looking for. Can you help at all with them? :)
Thanks again for taking the time to get the pictures for me
Gianni
that lower front on the TII pic is not stock, looks like a RE Amemiya nose to me.
Welcome btw, as has already been said, don\'t be afraid to ask questions!
Ahhh.. awesome! Well you learn something new everyday! Thanks for the info and the welcome :)
it maybe quite hard to get hold of an aftermarket front bumper, but i think replikit made a few.
not sure what the outcome was though. anyway heres a link http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45963
Hey mate, The pictures above are my actual car with the front bumper installed. It\'s not that i am looking for a new front, it\'s just that i didn\'t know it had an after market one installed. :)
ahhh wait.. I think i have been confused.. I presumed it was the first picture of MY car he was reffering to.. but now i have just realised he meant the very very first picture i posted.. hehe oops! Sorry, forget i even mentioned the front bumper.. The front on my car is just fine for me.
Sorry again, my bad. :(

ditto..
as for ur rear spoiler, im nt sure how many bolts hold that down but then TII spoiler is held down by 1 screw and 1 bolt on either end of the spoiler and also there are 2 bolts holding the lifted part of the spoiler. hard to explain but if u look closely at adareed pics then u\'ll see 2 stubbie bits holding the spoiler to the boot. if anything u prob have to drill a couple holes to fit a TII spoiler on.
oh.. btw with the bonnet, i have removed my top mount IC so the bulk head is open to the natural elements and so far the bulk head has not been covered in crap, but then again.. wait the leaves start to fall n then lets see how it turns out lol
Hi,
Welcome to the club.
A very clean looking car you have!
I have a turbo II white bonnet (great cond.) and also a turbo II White Spoiler (average-good cond).
I know the bonnet bolts straight on, but I\'m not sure of the fitment of the spoiler. Contact me on ben_s_lewis AT hotmail.com if you are interested in the parts (or anything else for that matter, I have lots of bits!)
Thanks,
Ben
welcome on board bud :Thumbs-up
I hate sounding cheesy but seriously thanks again for the warm welcome.. it makes time online more enjoyable when people aren\'t looking down on us so call n00bs.. hehe..
Ben - I have sent you an email regarding the bonnet.
Can anyone recommend some good oil for the car also?.. I\'ve not had a good look in the engine yet.. but when i did look i don\'t recall seeing the little oil rod to test the levels.. i\'m sure ive just overlooked it but could anyone tell me where it should be?..
Thanks again
Gianni :mmmm
Oil? Use a good mineral oil, rotarys are designed to burn oil and mineral oils burn cleaner than most synthetics (unless you want to buy really good synthetics and TBH in a stock motor it is unnecessary). The dip stick should be a yellow hoop on the right side of the engine (as you look at it from the front of the car).
Yep the dip stick is located between the spark plugs on the passenger side of the car. I use mineral oil 10/40w or 15/40w. Castrol is good I have used Valvoline last time.
i use castrol GTX 10w/40 in my egi, seems to like it
4 litres for £12 at tesco

ive never heard that advice...but thats how i drive the car summed up in one sentance
Hi mate, Ben will sort you out with what you need as its all in white. I have actually sold my really, really, really nice spoiler to someone else but I also like the spoiler in the 1st pic. There are a lot of us with some good knowledge all about the FC\'s and someone somewhere will guide you, prompt you and then say \' I told you so\'. Whatever you do, do the research and dont throw your money away. We have all been there and by now pretty much all the pro\'s and cons have been covered about everything imaginable about mods and upgrades. At the end of the day its your car and thats the most important thing but please please ask for advice if you are unsure.
The first thing for you though is to read about that engine thats under your bonnet, you will get to know it well.
There are a few Northern meets and shows that are really not that far south from you but be warned they only drink shandy !!! lol
Ha Ha i can better that.. i only drink water!... haha how boring am i?.. I don\'t know if this is a cheeky question but what is the sort of average age on here?.. I\'ve only just turned 24 but have the looks of a 17 year old.. (a good looking 17 year old mind you hehe ;) ) and i get some crazy looks from people when i am driving the FC.. It just seems everyone on here is a little older and obviously more wiser than i am..
I sent Ben an email earlier this afternoon so i will wait and see what he says.. im 100% set on leaving my spoiler as it is now but getting it painted white.. aswell as the black trim on the sides.. which i\'m wondering if anyone knows how to remove them?.. I\'m not sure if they just pull off or i need to take the door interior off to get into them..
As for Oil i will try the castrol GTX 10w/40.. i have heard alot of people mentioned the castrol stuff when asking around.. will it basically say castrol GTX 10w/40 on the bottle?.. my biggest nightmare is pouring in some oil that aint too good for it and totally messing it up..
Brett - Thats seems like some good advice.. I have been told i should never turn the car off while the engine is cold and should always wait until the engine is hot before going foot happy with the pedals.. The only thing about the not turning it off when its cold means i don\'t ever feel i can take it out the garage, clean it then put it back in.. haha.. its a nightmare as im so anal when it comes to stuff like this.. :(
Thanks again for all your help and i\'ll try get her cleaned and some better pics up.. i will also let you know who i get on with Ben. :)
Gianni
yes the castrol says what it is on the bottle. Its white with a red top and will just say castrol gtx 10w/40. there other ones that say diesel and high milage, which aren\'t what you want.
Not sure how to remove the spoilers, i guess they\'re a mix between clips and screws.
Also im 19 and look like a 15 yr old and ive yet to receive any dodgy looks, maybe its just where i live :D
haha well now you have made me feel all old!.. I think its more people looking at the car.. although most probably think its an old 944 haha.. i do feel like im in a ferrari though.. its great.. As far as i know there are no FC\'s around my area at all so i guess people look and wonder what it is.. I\'m just waiting on my RX7 badge coming in and another Mazda badge to paint white and stick to the front of the car..
I think the best experience ive had so far has got to be when a nice big Jag pulled up next to me at some traffic lights and the guy was looking at my car as if he wanted it.. he was pointing with a wow expression on his face.. i felt like the total daddy.. haha!
You know ive barely had the chance to look through this forum yet.. to be honest i\'m sticking to the FC2 section.. Has there been any threads with members cars at all?.. id love to see what some of you guys are driving..
Gianni
Im 28 and learning about these things as I go along too. Had mine for just over 18 months and it still makes me smile.
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48946
actually once i had someone in a jordan civic going mental at me, didn\'t want to speed off because he\'d soon realize how much more power he had...
Ah Ryosuke San ;) Very clean motor - looks good :cool
I\'m 40 but have the mental age of 20 !!
have a look at some of the projects, members cars etc and generally just spend hours and hours sifting through it all.
Ricco - You are an Initial D fan?.. :)
I had a look through the gallery thread that dthebuk posted and i noticed 2 cars that seem to be the same as mine.. one of which looked quite heavily modified on the outside..
I have a chrome RX7 badge coming for the back of the car.. what do you think would be best to do.. take off the black mazda badge and replace it with a chrome one to match the RX7 logo.. or paint the RX7 logo black? and put my chrome Mazda logo on the front (painted white). ? Unless anyone has a black RX7 badge they would be willing to part with? and a White Mazda badge.. my painting skills aint the best.. so this of course would be a much easier option for me.. :)
Gianni
Yes im afraid so! Still tricking myself into hoping there will be a 5th stage! :chat Watching them makes me want to go drive :3gears-rh :Laugh
Is that your car with the Redsuns emblem?.. Initial D is just the best thing ever.. its the main reason behind my new found passion for cars.. My civic has quite a few mods done to it and has an awesome Initial D sticker on the back window.. which the RX7 will also have when its windows have been tinted.. Ive recently imported the PS3 game and im loving it.. i was actually about to buy one of the Initial D arcade machines until i bought the Fc.. haha.. i thought the car was abit more closer to the real thing.. ;)
Ha ha! Importing the arcade machine deffinately sounds like your addicted! Getting FC was the right idea! Not got a PS3 yet, didnt know there was Initial D game for it - seen them for the PSP but I dont have one of those either (god im rubbish! :Laugh)
How you getting on with driving the fc - have you nailed the 5 hairpins yet! :Laugh ;)
The FC in my sig is just a picture I got off the net because my FC is very much in bits and labelled a project as not to arise suspicion that its a drawn out task that im very slow at! :chat
Ha Ha not tried the 5 hairpin bends yet.. Ive not even tried to kick the backside out of the car to be honest.. i\'d love to get into drifting but i don\'t think practicing on public roads is advisable.. i did get a nice wheel spin out of it though.. just getting used to the RWD.. I am loving it though.. having no power steering doesn\'t help matters though.. the car feels abit dated on the inside i feel.. i would really love to change the steering wheel and get some bucket seats.. but i don\'t think they would be as comfey or as practical as the real seats.. i just love how you feel like your arse is scraping along the ground because the seats are so low down.. its a great car.. i guess it feels that bit more special because i only take her out when its nice.. which isn\'t often!
Ah thats all good, just shows you have respect for the car and others :) I dont slide mine on purpose :) Nice to keep them for enjoyment use, hope you have many smiles when you drive! :chat
Thanks man! :)
Gianni
Might I suggest that you replace the HT leads as well as rewire or replace the fuel pump, both these parts can wear out and cause issues with the engine so its always best to replace those parts as the car is now basically a classic :)
Honestly dude, if i knew how to then i would.. I\'m not even sure what the HT leads are.. Money is tight for me at the moment due to having two cars and trying to save up.. i am going to book her in for an oil change and service over the next few weeks which is going to cost me almost £100.. plus i am still waiting to hear from Ben to see how much he is wanting for the bonnet.. plus i still need to get my rear light covers..
HT leads are the wires connecting the coil packs to the spark plugs. They are known for breaking down over time like any car really. Its always a good cheap place to start. As for the oil change. It\'s really not that difficult to do. Go and buy some axle stands and a trolly jack (£50 maybe less) and a socket or spanner set (£20-£40 maybe less) and you can do your own. That\'ll save you a £100 every 3000 miles.
HT leads will cost about £70ish for some good mantacor leads, the stock leads are thin and can cause ignition issues, this is rather bad for rotarys.
For lots of maintainace help and some performance ideas check out this site: http://www.1300cc.com/
go to the 2nd gen section at the top and have a look around :)
For an FC workshop manual with all the other mantenance things check this site out:
http://www.importworkshop.com/mazda-rx7-rx8.html
click on the FC series 4 manual. The series 4 wasn\'t in the UK as we got the series 5 only, but all the parts in the series 4 are basically the same, just some parts are on the other side of the car cause the series 4s were LHD
We didn\'t get series 4 turbo\'s
we did however get series 4 non turbo\'s :D
from the pics yours is a series 4 non turbo :D
Edit: cheers mitch, been looking for one of these for a while :D
Cheers guys! All this tech stuff goes way over my head.. It\'s insured up to 1500 miles PA so hopefully it will last me until then and then i will probably sell her on.. I will take some pictures of the engine bay and you guys can point out stuff you feel looks like its not in the right place or needs changed..
I\'ve still to hear from Ben.. So i don\'t know whats happening with the bonnet..Had a look at the bonnet tonight and it seems simple enough to remove..
Anyone know where i could get a white mazda badge for the front and a black RX7 badge for the back?.. Ive got both in chrome but i know if i try painting them it would turn out a mess.. Anyone?
Gianni
try flebay for the badges / emblems things.
when i got my fd it didnt have any on the back n there was a yellow badge on the front, from a dist ppl say looks like a ferrari lol
i think keep them off as looks smoother n keeps ppl guessing while ur at the lights lol
Ha ha.. true.. Right.. i think i have decided i will take off the badge on the back.. and put on the two chrome badges i have here.. As the car has been resprayed though i am not sure what the paint under the original badge will be like.. I guess its a gamble i\'ll just need to take.. i got another badge in today that i have ordered only to find out it was only about 4" in length.. haha.. I actually think my big Mazda badge is still alot smaller than the original one on the car..
Can anyone suggest any steering wheels on eBay that would fit my RX7?. This is the kind of shape im looking for but i\'m not sure which will fit and which wont..

Yep thats the wheel I have just fitted to mine. It\'s not he best quality but it works and feels good in the hand. It\'s smaller than the stock wheel so you loose some of the dash view. As for the hub I got the quick release but not the actual hub. The quick release works fine and looks ok too.
ahh really?.. was it from that exact seller?.. I\'m quite scared about this quick release thing.. does that mean i could be driving along and the wheel just comes off?...
Could i be the biggest pain in the arse and ask you to take a picture of it installed in the car if possible?...
i\'d like to see ur quick release also.
i got one but it adds about 3inches to how far the wheel sticks out.
atm the length to the wheel is just right.. any closer n u gotta have arms like a t-rex to drive it!
anyone kno if there are really shallow boss as most are about 3inches deep?
I\'ll take a photo later and post it up. Yes it does bring the wheel closer to you by around 3". I got mine from these guys, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=280238465959.
I presume its the same manufacturer as both company\'s are in California.
3" forward?!.. wow.. that\'s quite a bit.. though i look forward to the picture! :)

i dont kno how tall u are but dont u find the steering wheel too close?
unless the jdm fc\'s driver seat does not move as far back as uk fc\'s (being that jap ppl are supposidly a tad bit more vertically challenged than eng ppl)
Yep I\'m a bit of a short arse only 5\' 6". So its not really a problem for me. To be honest it shouldn\'t be a problem unless your pretty tall and then any car like the Rx7 would be a problem. I think you can get shorter hubs mind they are just a bit harder to find. I\'m sure i\'ve seen them on U.S Ebay. Maybe try emailing the people selling the wheel and see if they can get hold of one for you.
nt seen a shorter hub so far.. shame as i want to fit the Q/R boss.
helps stop naughty ppl nicking the car lol
wonder if theres such thing as Q/R gear sticks lol
Here are a few pic\'s of the wheel/hub fitted to my car. I was just thinking about it\'s position when driving home. It\'s not bad at all really. It does take a little bit of getting used to as the indicators etc are further away and the size of it means you put lock on quicker. But it does make you feel more like your driving a sports car rather than a GT car.
ur Q/R looks quite thin!
Awww Thanks for the pics dude!.. Well i went a bit spend happy tonight and bought some stuff to spruce up the inside of the car a bit.. try get rid of the dated look.. here is what i bought.. I think i have went a bit Blue crazy.. I also have no idea how to install any of the stuff.. Hopefully i can get someone local to do it all for me.. how easy is it to get into the speedos??

i have that metal sheet in mine. before you install it just sand down the edge for the space of the voltmeter as im pretty sure it causes mine to stick.
personally I wouldnt bother with the sheet metal, mine seems to get reflections from other lights which makes it look really tacky, though each to his own. The dials look ace
Nice FC mate
defo need more up here in scotland.
I see your from Glasgow!:Thumbs-up
We should have a lil meet with our FC3S:3gears-lh
when i get it back from WGT!
I\'m still not sure on the sheet metal look.. I think it looks good on the pic of the steering wheel.. but we will see.. its more the dials and backlight im looking forward too.. although ive just realised my interior is blue and the wheel is black.. so i dunno how that is going to look!
JTW86 - That sounds like a plan dude! You can show me how to keep my car up to scratch! haha.. Can you install steering wheels, metal sheets, new dials and lights? :) haha..
Well.. i just got my RX7 badge in and its not really the best quality.. does anyone have a spare for sale? :(
the dials are easy to get on.
theres 3 screws on the roof of the instrament cluster. undo them.
then theres 2 scres under the indicator stick and on the oppsite side also.
u mite want to lower ur steering column so that the dash can pop out.
then theres 4 screws holding the cluster in place.
undo them and the cluster pops out. u\'ll need to unclip the 2 plugs (connects all the wires to the cluster) and speedo cable to pull the whole thing out.
u\'ll need to lift a lever up on the clip to be able to get the plugs out.
same with the speedo cable.
once the cluster is out its just a couple of pushclips and the plastic screen pops out n u can access ur dials etc.
hope it helps
else if u ever down london area i dunt mind helping lol
That is actually a really big help thank you! I had a look last night and i seen the screws you are talking about but wasn\'t sure if they were the ones i had to remove.. It\'s just putting it all back together again i worry about.. haha
Will the bulbs become visible as soon as i remove the cluster?
once the cluster is out the bulbs are the black screw in knobs. u cant miss them. they are same as side lights bulbs.
u jus gave me an idea.. mite try changing the bulbs to blue n see wot its like instead of changing the dials also lol
thats if n when i can be bothered to undo everything again.. i taken out the cluster so many times i can get a degree in it lol
if u need more pics or help jus giv us a ding.. tho pics will take a while as i nt got my spare cluster here..
These are the lights i got for the dash.. Do you know if they are the right ones as it says it will fit my car..
If you ever get the chance to do a picture diagram of the removal and putting it back together that would be awesome.. :)
those bulbs look about right.. theres about 8 of them bulbs in the cluster, tho the others are for indicator, main beam.. not sure wot else.
i\'ll try find some pics n do a rough guide to taking dash out but it is lit as i said b4. im nt that hands on but managed lol
the tricky part is the speedo cable n plugs.. the plugs get brittle at their old age.

haha i havent installed a before but seen my cuz install one donkeys ago tho:Hammershouldnt be to hard tho,
as for the dial n the rest, no idea how to fit them mate sorry.
where did yu find the dials from? do they for TII?
i\'ve been thinking of change\'n mines also. just to make it look more updated :chat
I think i could probably pull everything off myself.. apart from the steering wheel.. i\'m going to leave that to someone who knows what they are doing..
Here is where i bought the new dial faces from -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120294947324&rd=1
If its going to help anyone out then i would have no problem making a scan of them for people to make their own custom dials?..
BBCFC - Does the cluster and surrounding parts come off without having to remove the actual steering wheel?
cant rem off the top of my head.. sorry..
have u got the stock wheel? i dont kno how to take that off.
think u can but will be a tight squeeze!
jus a note. it helps if u lower the steering column as far down as it can go and also u mite fint it easier to take the dash out by removing the top half of the steering column (just undo the screws on the underside of the steering column, think was about 3 or 4 screws)
Awww balls ive just realised the dials are for the Turbo which i believe has a higher top speed on the clock.. so i don\'t think it will give the correct speed when replaced.. :(
I just took some pictures of the car after its been given a quick clean.. im just uploading them right now via photobucket.. they will be up in 5 mins!
Well here she is.. I just washed her so i thought id take some pics.. also took some of my civic which unfortunately hadn\'t been washed yet!.. so its a bit dirty!. Still got alot i want to do to the RX7.. if anyone ever hears from that Ben dude who was going to sell me his bonnet please let me know.. as he never replied to my email. :(
Oh, and i think its the FC RX7 badge i have on the back but its alot nicer than the RX7 FC one i got from eBay so i have decided to keep it on..
Anyways.. enjoy!

also there is not voltmeter
you could deff do with some s5 rear lights and a decent spoiler :D
looks good though
I would love some new rear lights.. its just trying to find them! I don\'t its a volt meter but there is a meter in place of the volt meter.. unless it is a volt meter and its the boost meter i don\'t have.. i\'ll wait until they are arrive and see what i can do..
your best bet is to ask around on hear, put something in the wanted section :D
nice.. in white also.. love white fc\'s!
u should trade ur fc for a white TII fc.. n trade ur civic to an older shape one.. then u can start ur collection of Initial D cars lol
im sure u can find a redsun sticker on flebay lol
Ha ha my parents would kill me if i swapped it already.. plus the insurance is high enough for me on this.. never mind a turbo!.. Although i love all civics i think the 2005 model is the nicest :).
I take it i need to pay if i want to access the wanted section then?.. Just out of interest.. how much should i expect to pay for a new bonnet with the scoop?
Gianni
Leave it exactly as it is - the early EGI\'s are very rare. :)
I would love the bonnet with the scoop.. Here is a very very very bad paint edited picture of how i want it to look.. no laughing at my paint skills! haha..

F\'like
I\'m frae Aberdeen and are you still looking for white turboII bonnet as it\'s laying aboot at my hoose
interesting? make me a offer!
Hey Heid,
I honestly have no idea of the value of these boots to be honest.. I guess i would need to know if you would be willing to package it up and have it couriered to Glasgow first..
Gianni
or come up to aberdeen and i can change it as it takes a few mins and tie to your bonnet on rx\'s roof ;)
Welcome to the club - hope you enjoy your 2nd gen! ;)
It looks like a pretty standard 1st version of the early series 4 non Turbo Egi, except for the wheels and the RX7 badge on the left side of the boot. (There was a later series 4 with amongst other things a larger black spoiler, power steering, moulded rear badges rather than decals, shiny wheels rather than matt - I like to unofficially think of this one as a "4.5" LOL :))
You really don\'t see very many of the these earlier S4 in the condition your appears to be in, so I\'m going to be really controversial here (and I do LOVE customised 2nd gens too) and say in my opinion in many ways it would be a shame to change it - please give it all some serious thought! :( I think the contrast of the black and white is very striking and the Egi is a lovely looking car in it\'s own right! :) Standard cars can be as lovely when a clean example as a customised one and much rarer :) It may never be as head turning with some peeps, but it will be special :)
You really seem to be visualising the later TII version which is all colour coded.. i.e spoiler and rubbing strips, mirrors etc...
I think if you are addicted to fitting aftermarket or TII parts to it, (then if this car is as good as it looks it might be i.e solid and 98% standard) you should try to keep the original Egi parts too as it will keep the car\'s value if anyone in the future wants to put it back to standard again - just best of both worlds! :)
I\'m a big fan of the Egi\'s having an original later version myself :) In support of them, although not as quick as the TII, they are deliciously smooth to drive and alot of fun! Normally the floor is more resistant to rust, being thicker metal and the engines last longer than the TII\'s. They are also a perfect starter RX7 and you may find you start collecting more! LOL!
If you want to get the real badges, then to be honest they really are not a fortune from Mazda (and not dodgy quality like Ebay\'s can be). Just jot down your chassis number and they\'ll get them for you. I would imagine the decal badge would be around £6.00 + vat approx.
I do hope that you\'ll get loads of info off here and start to feel confident to tackle at least some of the servicing yourself - you will save £\'s, learn alot which will be useful to you always and above all know what\'s been done to your car and really bond with it! :)
Enjoy!
Lynn

Rotorheid - I think the trip to Aberdeen would almost be my 1500miles a year allowence! haha.. I\'m not in need that much.. but thanks anyways for the offer.
Moonwrap - Thank you for the welcome dude. I totally appreciate and understand what you are saying about keeping it original.. i personally love the car the way it is but i just think it would look alot better with the certain mods id like to take out on it.. as for resell value i am not bothered about this.. i know what cars are like when it comes to value.. i know no matter what i do i will make a great loss.. but to be honest the car was so cheap anyways its something i am willing to live with.. I hope that when i am finished you guys will be as happy as i am with the car..
My biggest project will be getting it lowered... Can anyone recommend any lowering springs that will fit this car?.. I\'m looking to go pretty low i think.. i don\'t know if low profile tyres will suit this car to be honest... has anyone ever put any on theirs?
