Title: fuel pump wireing upgrade
Post by: cyman on August 14, 2008, 08:26:06 PM
i have spoke to a couple of rex specialists now and they all reccomend upgrading the fuel pump wireing to go along with my hks twin power and uprated fuel regulator then another run on the dyno for setup.

has anyone done this upgrade to the wireing themselves or had it done???? is it a case of upgradeing the existing cables or running the ignition switch to a relay then putting a new bigger feed to and from that????.

if anyone has any details or a nice diagram of this it would be much appreciated.

cheers

No diagram but i have had this done by WGT, my pump was not working as should and after he tapped into the ECU and added a relay and a new feed form the battery its worked a treat. I am sure i have seen the info on here will try and hunt it down for you.

Think this mite be it

nice one thanks.

both threads point to the rx7club forum which seems to be down tonight so i will take a look tomorrow. seems like a worthwhile upgrade all i need to do now is to decide which regulator to get and then go and get it setup  :):):)

All you need to do is use your existing feed to the pump moved to a new 30 amp relay (as close to the pump as pos) and run battery voltage via a fuse to it (using nice new thick cable) to the pump. You will need to jumper out the original large resistor in the engine bay too so the relay is always at max battery voltage. I would upgrade the cable to earth too just to make sure.
