Title: thanks & cheerio!
Post by: billy on March 22, 2004, 02:16:13 PM
hi all,

just wanted to say thanks for your tips and advice recently when i was considering buying an RX7.

i\'ve decided against it for now due to petrol costs/engine re-build issues - basically i wanted a hassle free daily driver with occasional track use.

i signed on the dotted line yesterday for a 7 month old S2000 - great price and great service from hyndland honda (bought my CTR there 2 years ago).

reckon I may be back here in the future if the new RX7 materialises in a couple of years!

anyway, thanks again!

cheers,
billy

RX7 all the time :D

Seriously tho, good choice of car for everyday use man!

My friend has one, and loves it to bits, tho he\'s only had it a month and stuffed it into a barrier all ready:rolleyes:

Cheers,

Now if it were RX7 or NSX and some one else was paying the initial purchase price (I think the NSX costs slightly more to keep on the road, but the engine lasts longer) then it\'d be difficult.

I agree with the others though, if cost was a question for you then you have made the right choice.  It\'s sad watching people buy FD3s, only to sell them 5-6 months down the line when they find they can not afford them.

I\'ve also considered replacing my supercharged MX-5 with a S2000 as a second car, I do rather like them.

Yup when I was researching the RX7 I seemed to be getting info that it would be anything up to 17mpg in town...
Now that I have 1 I know its not true. Love the car to bits but also love my wallet too, and at the moment its getting a bashing.

s2k is a nice car dude, you\'ll be happy with her

they\'ve got a good forum too //www.s2ki.co.uk

best of luck, we expect some pics :D

p.s. get a kit if you want to stand out, the s2k lot don\'t do a lot with thier cars :(

i reckon the S2K is so rare (although obv not as rare as RX7s!) that they don\'t really need much to stand out tbh.

on both my test drives loads more folk were staring at the car than i got/get in the CTR.

the ctr attracts looks from folk who know their cars and know what it is but not from "normal" punters.

the S2K seems to attract looks from virtually everyone - especially the ladies - which is nice! (better not show the g/f this post!)

i do fancy adding something to teh car but i\'m not sure what - just something to personalise it a bit - i like the oem front spoiler and rear spoiler but they are £800 from honda - a tad expensive.

i\'ll need to do some hunting around methinks.

all part of the fun though! :)

You want to look through Best Motoring International DVDs.  There\'s a Spoon S2K that they totalyl rave over.  No performance mods aside from lots of light weight parts (incl a full titanium exhaust) and uprated suspension.
