if i was to just have my screamer pipe vented to atmosphere. instead of the way it is now, plumed back into the down pipe. would i have to get the car remapped or just set up the boost controller again and watch the boost?
thanks, shane ;)
I\'m quite sure you won\'t need to get it remapped as all your doing is releasing the air to atmospehere instead of the exhaust? oh and get ready to block your ears :Laugh

hah. i just love the sound they make when vented. just want to be sure before i get to work on cutting out the old pipe and fitting the screamer :3gears-rh
i would say yes you would need to map it as the exhaust will be flowing more, i nearly lost an engine due to swapping a back box, ask your tuner of choice!
anyone else???
ask your tuner who originally tuned the car, depends how he has mapped it, he may put extra fuel in the cells or he may have not, going vented will affect the flow ,you may find your boost has increased so you may need to adjust that as well
I suppose it depends on how restrictive the exhaust is after the point where the screamer pipe is plumbed in?
I would think about it first, yes it is a great sound, but it will prohibit you from taking the car onto a circuit and it can be quite harsh on the ears if you are driving hard for any length of time (mine vents to atmosphere - about a 3" pipe out of the wastegate so really close to the driver and it is stupidly loud!)

the exhaust is very open. the back box has very little silencing in it at all. as for how loud it is. doesnt bother me. its pretty much a track car. and the db limit on the track i use isnt enforced. :D
If you have a screamer pipe....prepare to be pulled over lol

I thought rotarys were loud enough lol :yes
even louder with a screamer :D
I have my 50mm plumbed in as its considered an exhaust leak in New Zealand....the car is loud enough without it.

Na never to loud!!! Lol
Always put\'s a smile on my face
I\'d say a remap would need doin, deffo towards the upper part of the rev range, you could use a wideband and adjust the fuel pressure, speak to carl he\'s ya man
