Title: Chrome Speedo rings
Post by: MintyFresh on March 22, 2004, 09:16:30 AM
Do all Gen3 Rex\'s come with the chrome rings around speedometer, tachometer etc....?

I ask because ive seen some without.  Have they been removed, or are they a part of the isividual model spec (type R, X, RB etc...)?

I think that they had chrome on all the early models but then went to black after around a year (?).

Don\'t know if they were reintroduced later.

Yep really early cars have chrome I think, also a few slightly later cars had them in limited numbers I believe...

I was just wondering because my mate in a 93(k) has the rings, and i in a 95(N) do not, and neither of us know what model \'7\'s we have.

I\'m not a chrome fan either, though I think it depends on the car.  In my MX-5, where the whole look is retro, then the chrome edge to the speedo and rev counter do actually look good (standard in an early one) though I wouldn;t add more.  Can\'t imagine it in the FD3 though.
