Title: Can anyone fit a clutch?
Post by: MintyFresh on March 21, 2004, 04:10:58 PM
My clutch is in terrible form,, i didnt realise quite how bad it was untill i drove my 200sx and it felt like a rocket compared to the Rex.

My question is can any competent mechanics fit a clutch in the FD?  I understand rotary issues are best left to a specialist but surely a clutch is the same as fitting a clutch to most cars?

Deano.

a decent mechanic should have no trouble fitting a clutch on an FD

I got a standard clutch fitted in a previous RX7.  As long as they have access to a ramp I think it is fairly straight forward.  My mechanic was not RX7 trained but did not have a problem.  It was a while ago but I think I payed him £ 125.00 labour.  I got a standard clutch direct through CAT automotive.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

Paul

Most good mechanics shouldnt have a problem fitting it, just make sure they have fitted pull type clutches before.
