my FD starts really getting on my nervs...i fix 1 thing and the next one comes up, or like now, haven fixed 1 and heres the next one..
basically wanted to test my boost(again - still got massive boost leak :( )
just went around the roundabout and the wire that was connected to my horn snapped(was too short i think and when i was turning..well just snapped) and my car started constantly beeping..couldnt turn it off bgut it stopped itself after few seconds, since then i have no horn(just re-attached the wire again) and my indicators dont work :( i can hear the clicks but neither green arrows inside or indicators outside dont work...my radio, front lights, dash and other electical stuff works fine..
ideas? :(
I\'m guessing here, but have you checked the fuses in the drivers footwell?
fuses? im a new to FD world mate(especially with electrics), what fuses? where r they and how do i test them?
Underneath your drivers footwell on the righthand side as you sit in the drivers seat.
and how do i test them?
they are blade fuses, so you can take them out and inspect them and see if they have blown, they are in different coloured clear plastic so you can see if the metal of fuse is broken
And, for each problem you fix, that\'s one more that\'s not going to happen again!
Keep at it, and you\'ll have a nice reliable FD.
hmm after all my boost problem i really start thinking of selling it...car was doing so well before i have done my vaccum job, and since then ...
thx for the tips Blitzboy - ill check them fuses tommorow - just been playing with my boost again and i dont want to see this car for the rest of the evening...
btw:
where can i get those fuses from ? will halfords have it?
yeah, they\'re completely standard fuses. I would put money on it being a fuse. Halfords do stock \'em. As would any motor factor.
just make sure you have a proper look for the fuses as they dont jump out at you!!(especially if you dont know what your looking for) move the drivers seat right back cos\' there aint much room to play inside the fd!!! lol
if you dont have a fuse puller use some long nose pliers, dont be tempted to pry them out with a screwdriver like i did when i was too lazy to look for pliers!! :spank
