Ok just received my new selonoid rack from the states so
Decided seen as iv recently poped a set of knight sports twins in and been getting 95% inj duties on at only .9bar thought it was time to upgrade the fueling system at the same time.
Fueling will be address via a new kgparts fuel rail, 1680cc injectors, Aeromotive FPR and some an6 braided fuel line.
1st pic is what is getting binned and 2nd pic is whats going in :D
Before and after pic of the mess under the uim
Gonna be totally removing the rats nest, seen as the uim uses it for a support its time to start hacking the bracket off.
As you can see in the second pic the uim now has somewhere to anchor to.
Apologies pics are via my camera phone as i have lost the charger for my camera.
Time to figue out where the solenoids are going to be mounted.
Finally settled on mounting them on the back of the uim.
2nd pic is what you can see between the bulkhead and uim when retro fitted.
Wow! Whats this solenoid rack? Some custom jobby that replaces the rats nest? Looks good!
Wow cool!.....are those the same twins as the ones JM-Garage has up for sale?.
How easy is this sort of work to carry out?, i dont mind dabbling with a set of spanners and quite handy with them.
Regards
Matt

Yes it completely replaces the solenoids as well as making it simplified seq.
Expensive but some quality piece of kit :D

I dont know as i havent seen jm-garages for sale thread but they are uprated twins and can apparently run past 1.4bar
Everything is doable its only nutz and bolts not magic :D
Decided to finally rid myself of the 2nd set of butterflies as the set-up im aiming for wont be using them.
To remove just drill the screws out in the butterflies and slide them out, the bar will then just slide from inside.
Tap the hole that the bar came out and pop a bolt in it with a little threadlock.
Removed the acv and made a plate to blank it off, if you make your own plate make sure you use some sturn stuff as you wouldnt want it warping and letting in some air that the ecu didnt know about :eek also use the metal gasket that the acv is mounted on, better yet buy one from one of the traders on here.
good work steve, seeing as you\'re a dab hand, when your done can you do mine :p :D
let us know the results
Kg parts rail fitted with 1680cc injectors, i will be using resistors as i fitted racelocigs traction control some months ago and this requires me to fit them.
Also as im doing away with the whole rats nest including the solid fuel lines thats attached to it, i will be going all the way though with an6 braded hose.
Decided to stick with the stock primarys for the time being, but seen as iv eliminated the whole of the spaghetti thats under the uim, there is now loads of room for me to fit a primary rail as well, maybe go with 700cc injectors if i cant dial out the transition between the primarys (550cc) and secondarys (1680cc)
hose is just laid out and not attached to the fuel lines yet
Looks much more friendly under the plenum now! I\'d love to simplify mine a bit more, yours looks spot on :mmmm

Think this one will cure me from wanting to do more :Giggle
Dont worry i will be posting the final feel of the car as im a big fan of the way mazda made it originally.
Sequential all the way :D
hi steve are you selling old solenoids could do with some spare ones
adib send me a pm mate if ya interested :)
Thats it for today but more to come tomorrow :D
What\'s the deal with removing the second butterflies in the throttel body mate?? Thought it was the secondry butterflies from the UIM people removed??
Jono
He has removed the second butterflies fromthe UIM. he hasn\'t removed the butterflies from the throttle body.

Yup from uim only :D
Oh, bugger!! Sorry, my eyes weren\'t working last night!! got a mega cold & my head is all wooly!!!
Steave, how much did the solonoid pack set you back, & how reliable are they compaird to the stock mazda ones?? Might look at investing in this too? any links etc?
Jono
They look like very good solenoids. Metal are they? (IF so, probably better than plastic ones) Also not mounted in such a heat source as the standard ones.
Looking very good! I\'ve now started hacking my rats nest into wee little bits, leaving the sides, but pulled all the un-needed solinoids, and got rid of all the metal pipes across the top.
Maybe a bit extreme, but yeah, I got carried away as well ;)
How are you blanking off the unused nipples on the UIM etc? I\'ve still not found any caps?
There was a place that someone found that sold blanking caps, but i seem to have lost that now. What i\'ve done is cut a small amount a silicone hose, and then got a nice round headed allan key bolt that fits inside so it looks neat. Or just get a longer piece of silicone hose and wrap it around tightly underneath from one nipple on one side to another nipple on the other side. That way you can\'t see it.
Sounds good Nik, cheers for that. I found a couple of places but it seems to be a lot of dosh for a few silicone caps when you can get a few metres of hose for a couple of quid ;)
I ended up just finding some long bolts with a plain shaft. Cut off the thread and head and pressed them home. Works very nice over a threaded bolt.
Looking good as well. Thinking about the 1600\'s for the single setup !

Hi steve, i\'m quite interested in this too. Been looking for solenoids everywhere to no avail, and these look spot on. Do you have any links to the site at all mate? Great job BTW, i\'ll be following this one :Thumbs-up
Well i got these from the states and they were about £380 + shipping.
The guy who was doing them has now stoped visiting the us forum therefore not able to contact him.
I have recently gained another contact for him so i have poped him a email.
Never managed to make much progress to day but watch this space :D
Steve, i\'ve found the end caps that you were after:

Ok, it wasn\'t steve but RemarkLima who was asking about blanking! :p

cheap as chips for vacuum caps
They\'re all coming out the woodwork now! :p
steve...did you have any issue with the new rail support hitting the bolt on the egr blocking plate?

Take the bolt out. That\'s what I have done, works fine.

I did at 1st but a then I ended up countersinking some allan key bolts in place instead.

Didnt wanna do that either as i didnt want air being sucked in or out that the ecu didnt know about.
